The National Rifle Association predicts the election of Barack Obama is going to pose a serious threat to the Second Amendment rights of American citizens.
Numerous reports around the U.S. indicate that citizens have been racing to purchase both guns and ammunition before Obama takes office next year. On Election Day, a Cheyenne, Wyoming, gun store set a one-day sales record -- then broke that record the next day. The Franklin Gun Shop outside Nashville sold more than 70 guns on Election Day. It was the biggest sales day since opening its doors eight years ago.
The day after Obama was elected, the owner of a shop outside Salt Lake City sold nine assault weapons -- and another gun store owner in Fort Worth reported sales of $101,000 in merchandise, shattering its single-day sales record.
NRA spokewoman Rachel Parsons has a theory on the gun run. It is quite apparent, she says, that people are concerned that Obama truly has had a radical record of opposition to the Second Amendment.
"They're concerned about their Second Amendment rights, and they're purchasing firearms...maybe while they still have the chance," she conjectures. "They know that it's very likely that when president-elect Obama gets into the White House, he and those who he has appointed to leadership, who are also anti-gun, may indeed attack the Second Amendment."
During the campaign, the NRA ran advertisements saying Obama "would be the most anti-gun president in American history." And the president-elect's voting record on gun rights, says Parson, backs that up.
"He's supported gun bans, ammunition bans. He's supported a tax increase on guns and ammunition. He has voted against self-defense in the home when he was in the Illinois State Senate," she emphasizes. "Over and over, Barack Obama has voted against the Second Amendment."
The NRA spokeswoman suggests it is likely those votes will follow him into the White House. So she says it will take a grassroots effort by those who support the Constitution to prevent president-elect Obama from destroying Americans' Second Amendment rights.
I wanted to add to my question that, if you are NOT an SOT, LEO or private owner of an NFA-registered full-auto switch, and you made your own Glock 18 switch from blueprints, you could be looking at 25 years in a federal penitentiary.
The feds are spooky-dangerous enforcers of the NFA act of ‘32, just look at what happened at Waco.
Ed
well I have just seen a video of an elderly lady being attacked and harassed by a bunch of homo bullies.
If this lady felt her life was being threatened then is it lawful in CA to protect ones self.?
I do not know CA gun laws sorry.
Anyone who voted for this phony and has a gun deserves to have their gun taken away from them first as they are complete idiots
my wife a co workers of my wife’s and a lady neighbour are all getting guns for the first time with a concealed permit.
The right to self defence is strong in my state and wile criminals know that obama is on their side I only think that crime will go up as obama tanks the economy even more
If he said that, then he can forget my support.
I thought we had a Bill of Rights, not a Bill of Needs.
I also thought that the 2nd Amendment guaranteed more than the "Right to Hunt".
I wonder what the hell has happened to FOX news. I saw Shep and Katherine talking about gun sales today. They said sales were up only 9%, and attributed it to the economy, cold weather and anything else but Obama.
They believed that since Obama said he supported the 2nd Amendment during the campaign, it was unfair to attribute the spike in sales to his election. I finally had to turn it off before I lost my lunch.
.
Proof election was planned?

Brady campaign on their “POST ELECTION”, note the video was posted November 3rd.
Maybe this is why McCain didn’t even try.
.
I'd rather have an SA-8 or a ZSU-23/4.
Easier to hide, and the SA-8's vehicle is amphibious.
;-)
I pinged almost 20 of the other people on the RNC Chairman thread who’s posts ranged from YESSSSS!!!!! to other varied degrees of excitement about the fact that he is a moderate RINO who thinks the 2nd Amendment is about hunting.
No one responded back.
http://www.ontheissues.org/senate/Michael_Steele.htm
Steele’s problem is that he sees no use for guns other than skeet shooting and hunting.
He doesn’t recognize a fundamental right to own firearms for self-defense.
He also advocates an assault weapons ban.
That’s a Davey Crockett. :-)
Whenever I hear anyone mention the words hunting and 2nd Amendment in the same sentence I always remind them of these two words:
Lexington, Concord
Me neither, no panderers, anymore.
Pretty impressive list there, except for that last item.
YOU'LL PUT YOUR EYE OUT!
“Daisy” is a classic !
The MSM talking point is that increased gun sales are all the result of "fears over the economy".
Yeah, right.
I went to a local gun shop a few days ago and could barely get in the door.
Prospective gun buyers were stripping that place like they were a swarm of locusts. I had to turn around and leave without getting helped.
I never thought I would be looking at Hillary, Bill, gore and Kerry in a new light. Just when you think it couldn’t possibly get any worse than those charactors.
How about a Czech M53 with twin 30mm cannon?
Don’t call them assault rifles or assualt style rifles. This is what the gun banners call them.
They are just semi-automatic rifles.
I think I’m gonna have to rent that PS90 at my local range sometime and test it’s fun factor myself.
"Wolverines!!!"
