Just hours after President Bush and President-elect Obama met in the Oval Office of the White House, details of their confidential conversation began leaking out to the press, igniting anger from the president, sources claim.
"Senator Obama would be wise to keep close counsel," a top Bush source warned.
"BUSH AND OBAMA AT ODDS OVER AID FOR AUTO INDUSTRY," splashed the NEW YORK TIMES in an exclusive Monday evening, quoting "people familiar with the discussion."
The two met at the White House in private, without staff.
"Bush indicated at the meeting that he might support some aid and a broader economic stimulus package if Obama and congressional Democrats dropped their opposition to a free-trade agreement with Colombia," claimed the TIMES.

The ASSOCIATED PRESS quickly followed with details of the conversation, citing "aides who described the discussion on grounds of anonymity, citing the private nature of the meeting."
Bush advisers view the leaks as an effort to undermine the president's remaining days in office.
"Senator Obama may not be familiar with a long-standing tradition of presidents holding their private conversations, private," a senior adviser explained to the DRUDGE REPORT.

You hit the nail on the head! I was watching live streaming from FNC yesterday outside the white house, and there were a group of protestors, with ARREST BUSH-CHENEY NOW clothes on and carrying banners. There was a live mic so I heard them saying what their plans were and how they thought they did good at DOJ yesterday and their groups were growing, how Obama has to see them and listen now... on and on.
The left want Bush and Cheney impeached (not sure how you do that after they leave office) and they want them in JAIL. They have a big following and are motivated.

First, I have no problem with Opossum going to policy staf and debriefing them; I’m sure Jorge did too.
Second, the press needs to stop using anonymous sources for these stories...it is yellow (as in urine) journalism.
All that being said, the leaks have Rahm Emanuel’s fingerprints all over them.

This should be used as a Republican opportunity for "Contract With America II", if we can get our act together. The "Palin-Alaska" method should be implemented in Washington - clean house!

Bush let him take over the meeting and Paulson leaked the House plan to Obama and he ripped the House Republicans a new one which made Boehner blow up in the meeting. McCain finally took over the meeting to calm it down but somehow Bush deferring to Obama at the meeting rankled me to no end.
What did he expect out of a private conversation where Obama’s goon squad was present? Every briefing the ZERO gets will be leaked.
All of us need to start compiling lists of all of these events because ZERO is gong to overreach big time and we need to strike in 2010. The American public is going to get their buyer’s remorse very quickly. Some have already after Wright and Farrenkhan immediately went public.
By saying that Obama speaks well, I was actually not referring to the way he delivers speeches, but to his pronunciation, which bespeaks a private-school education. The East Coast elites hear that and respond to it, gravitating toward it as to a homing signal. People in this country do not realize that we have class-based prejudices just as much as British society does, and much of it is founded on speech patterns, which Obama has mastered. That is why Peggy Noonan and Kathleen Parker and David Frum and a host of others despise Sarah Palin, too: she speaks like an ordinary person rather than like someone who went to Sidwell Friends.

On the up side, and I haven’t read all the comments so maybe this has already been said, it is refreshing to have the MSM poop on the One’s parade a bit.
Up until now, his every word and deed was kept confidential by the same MSM that promoted him so well, whereas now it looks as tho we may see some of the ugliness, the pettiness, and the general low class behavior that has not been allowed to leak until now.

Who stands to gain from leaking this info from a private conversation? I’m trying to figure out the WHY of the leak, other than some vain staffer trying to impress a NYT reporter.
