On accusations of her going rogue during the campaign: So, as days went on, it was good, it was fine. But being quite independent, just like John McCain is also, yes, maybe there is some characterizing of me going rogue when once in a while I would say something that -- hey, I said it from the heart. I believed in going off script once in a while in some of the rallies in order to really reiterate, perhaps, something that I believed about John McCain.
Maybe it wasn't written in the script, but so what. Geez, if this is all going to be so scripted and kind of like a movie screen and we have to follow verbatim everything that somebody writes for you, I don't want any part of that. That's not who I am and that's not who John McCain is either.
So, if I went off script once in a while, I can't for the life of me remember any one time where it would have harmed him, or the ticket. So I don't regret it.

Gnat, camel. Did you send her an email on that?
Geez...lighten up
The poster did not properly include the beginning of his statement...It is really difficult to believe..”your kidding about the geez thing.....” GERUND...a verb ending in “ing”... look it up. Your is a possessive that must accompany the verb in this case, (her his their etc.)and is not improper. Take all critiques tonight to heart.

Sarah Palin is amazing and there is no good reason to slander her in such ways.
Make it a lot more rare.
She can’t come off against McCain now. Look what they’re doing to her when she’s being nice.
Todd Palin is perfectly capable of taking care of his own children, as their father, whenever necessary.
Great post. Right on.
Good one.
And all these years I thought geez was just a short way to say gee wiz! Wow! How wrong can I be! :) LOL!
Have either of you heard of an etymological dictionary? Check it out, and apologize.
True, but I doubt that millions of Minnesotans, Canadians, Alaskans and others who use the expression every day are at all conscious of the etymology of geez. Perhaps the Sarah bashers might be well served by undertaking an extended campaign to the North country to instruct the poor souls up there in order to correct this widespread language crime.
“Have either of you heard of an etymological dictionary? Check it out, and apologize.”
Thank you for the information about the etymological dictionary as I found it very interesting. I certainly apologize to anyone I may have offended and I hope that “not knowing” the word or phrase is offensive would be considered. I believe anyone who has used it would be as surprised as I was to learn the root etymological meaning and would not have used it had they known.
As a Roman-Catholic who subscribes to God's theology I believe Gov Palin to be an outstanding example of a Christian.
Unlike Kurt Evans she doesn't wear the cloak of hypocrisy and pretense.
A few come to mind:
Obama is a socialist. Now let me tell you about my $300B bailout program to keep people in their homes.
I reached across the aisle and limited how much money I could spend on the campaign.
I tried to limit CO2 emissions. Watch out! Obama is going to limit CO2 emissions.
Post #15 - Grow up and stop treating her as a teenager would a pin-up babe.
I know, that was my point.
Also in the etymological dictionary is geez as a derivative of geezer:
"geezer"
1885, variant of obs. Cockney guiser "mummer" (see guise).
Now, the problem with chiding someone on such an obscurity is similar to the teaching the Bible gives concerning 'knowing to do sin' and the contrast to 'innocence'. See eating food offered to idols and the extensive teaching thereon.
Bottom line: those chiding people for using a term innocently that the chider attends as offensive, the chider is being a busy body ... if the food is not known to the eater as having been offered to idols, then eating it does not incur wrong to the eater. As for myself, now that the derivative has been discovered, I shall refrain from using the phrasing because I do not wish to be an offense to my Lord.
I read the transcript at the link and it brought a smile to my lips. I understand what she is saying, and who she is. She is a good supporter of John McCain. She finds it hard to devote herself to replying to the petty complaints of her critics. From previous appearances, it is clear that she is a good supporter of the United States of America, and of the US military, “God bless em.”
I’ll grant you that she is not as eloquent as John Kerry. Who can compete with his 1971 testimony to the US Senate? These words almost guaranteed that he would have a brilliant future within the Democratic party. Speaking of his “band of brothers” in Vietnam, he said:
“They had personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, tape wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the country side of South Vietnam in addition to the normal ravage of war, and the normal and very particular ravaging which is done by the applied bombing power of this country.
