The Kirk Cameron starred, Christian-centered, liberally mocked film 'Fireproof' has far exceeded expectations at the Box Office. With a budget of about $500,000, and little advertisement to speak of, the little-movie-with-a-message-that-could has rounded up an impressive $28.4 Million after 7 weeks in theatres, and moved up to 13th place overall. Between weekends 6 and 7 it had the smallest drop (8.7%) of all top-20 movies, meaning the feel good movie could end up with $32-35 Million by the time it completes it's run.

Comparatively, after 4 weeks Anti-Bush film 'W' continues to drop like a rock and has found just $24.2 Million and a...

Wasn’t there another public figure who served in Vietnam? Perhaps a 2004 presidential candidate? His name escapes me.

I did like World Trade Center. I bought the DVD, and if you turn on the “commentary”, one of them is delivered by one of the buried cops. He talks all about the heroism and tells personal stories of what happened that day.

It really elevates the film. He will say, for instance, that actor represents so and so, who went in twice, etc. And he points out all the cameos by the real heroes.

I really dislike Stone. But the movie is more than good, it is a tribute to our heroes.

There is another way to look at those cable news numbers. As you can see, Ingraham/BOR lost the 7pm(CDT) slot to olberbite. Because the ratings of that show are summed after several reruns, it goes down as a BOR win. That is why BOR calls up the summed numbers and not the head to head live...because he's not winning every night head to head live against olberbite. Once again, I'm not advocating any of these shows because I've all but quit watching them. However, the BOR obsession with reporting ratings isn't always the full story IMO.

> Strangely, the box office gave us tickets that were printed for a different movie, then told us to go ahead and use them anyway. An honest mistake, or an attempt to skew the number of Fireproof customers DOWN? I don’t know.

NOT an honest mistake. This has become the latest LIB approach for stealing from conservatives. Report it!

No, the numbers you posted are “Demo” numbers, not total viewers... and who cares about Demo numbers unless you are an advertiser? (Im not)

YES, DEFINITELY REPORT IT!

It’s a fraud on the part of the theater; and yes, that will impact because they will now remit less money to Fireproof and more money to the movie that was on the ticket.

(That’s called, THEFT.)

And in this case, it’s THEFT with a political agenda.

Cameron Finds Way Around Self-imposed Kissing Ban

24 September 2008 12:25 AM, PDT | From wenn.com | See recent WENN news

Christian actor Kirk Cameron forced movie bosses to cast his wife Chelsea as a smooching stand-in for his new film Fireproof, because he refused to kiss his onscreen wife.

In the movie, Cameron plays a firefighter battling to save his marriage to his wife, played by Erin Bethea.

But the 37 year old had made a vow to Chelsea - his wife of 17 years and the mother of his six children - that he would never kiss another woman on or off-screen, so she was brought onto the set for a romantic scene.

Cameron, a partner in evangelical Christian ministry The Way of the Master, explains, “In Fireproof, there is a romantic and touching scene where he (character) kisses his wife.

“Because I have a commitment not to kiss any other woman, my wife Chelsea came in to the set and wore the dress my character’s wife wore. We shot the scene in silhouette, so when I kiss my wife, I’m actually kissing my wife and honouring our marriage.

“It’s a personal commitment I have made to my wife.”

I'll have to agree with you about beach volleyball (WOMAN'S). That transcends sports. I haven't seen Fireproof yet. Might be too late because my wife and I are separated ...

It was Facing the Giants, not Remember the Titans. Excellent movie, but so was Remembr the Titans. I wish they made more movies like those. I haven’t seen Fireproof yet but my daughter did and really liked it.

I saw all I needed to see of World Trade Center when I woke up September 11, 2001, and turned on the motel TV to get the weather report.

The manager let everybody stay as long as they wanted before checking out that day, so they could continue watching the coverage.

Like others, I will not put a penny into Stone’s capacious pockets.

Also, look for the Jay Austin Motors (from Flywheel) license plates in the two later movies.

Also noticed a sign for Bobby Joe Duke's Lollipop Shop somewhere around the middle of Fireproof.

Fireproof was excellent. Many lives will be changed in a positive way from that movie.
