The Change? The first major hit from Al Qaeda on U.S. soil in over 7 years.
OSAMA bin Laden is planning an attack against the United States that will "outdo by far" September 11, an Arab newspaper in London has reported.
And according to a former senior Yemeni al-Qaeda operative, the terrorist organisation has entered a "positive phase", reinforcing specific training camps around the world that will lead the next "wave of action" against the West.
The warning, on the front page of an Arabic newspaper published in London, Al-Quds Al-Arabi - and widely reported in the major Italian papers - quotes a person described as being "very close to al-Qaeda" in Yemen.
Is the Yemeni credible? The blogosphere's renowned expert on Yemen, Jane Novak, says yes.

Crap. I live within a few miles of a port in southeast Florida.
Which is the exact plot of "Atlas Shrugged" by Ayn Rand. The more the government "intervened" the worse the "crisis" got, which caused more government "intervention" which caused worsening of the problem, until it all fell apart............
Can you elaborate?
My guns will still fire, food will still be cooked, (alternate) heat will operate - other than not being able to pick up Red Sox games anymore, I'm good.
EMP is a result of nuclear detonation - will fry transistors and pretty-much any electrical that is not "hardened" - including your car, cell phone, I-pod, big-screen TV........
Biden for President. Then Pelosi....then back to sanity again.
No, no no..we were very afraid but...the electors didn’t help us.
But that is only half of Biden's prediction. What he was getting at is that Obama will do unpopular things, once this happens....
Civilian national security force?
Martial law?
Nationalization of state and local police forces?
Of course, al Qaeda has been waiting for Obama as much as has Peggy the Freeloader, Ayers, Wright, Farrakhan, Castro, Chavez, Ahmadinnerjacket, the Communist Party USA, and the hood on the south side of Chicago.
Heaven help us.
I would hope so. But then again, I never thought I'd see the day when a Marxist was elected to the presidency.
btt
Ah, but never convicted.
Then O'biden would name Barney Frank as the guy behind him (for impeachment insurance purposes), butt we'd be the ones all "taking it" (figuratively speaking, of course).

I think I have heard of it before. We do rely on electricity for everything - that would be really bad.
EMP or electromagnetic pulse is the byproduct of a nuclear reaction. Electromagnetic fields passing through conductors at a generating station is what produces current flow in everything that uses electrical power. TV’s computers, water pumping stations, lights, refrigerators, cars, radios, nowadays just about everything. If the field is strong enough, the current flow through the conductor will cause it to disintegrate. Integrated circuits (computer chips) are particularly suceptable to high current flow. A nuclear blast, hundreds of miles above the surface of the earth, would project the EMP radially in all directions line of sight to the earths surface rendering all communication, transportation, power grids, generating systems useless for a very long time. No one would die from the blast, but millions would die from starvation, thirst and the chaos that follows. A container vessel off the east coast could feasibly launch a missile, no advanced guidance system required, into the atmosphere 300 miles up, detonate it, and the entire east coast as far west as Ohio, would be knocked back 200 years. Your faucet would dry up, Trucks wouldn't run to bring food to the grocery stores, police cars wouldn't run, your lights wouldn't turn on, zippo zilch on everything relying on a computer chip would stop working. And that's just about everything. Buy a gun, because if this ever happens, you're gonna need one.

Barney would be better as Secretary of the Inte... I mean, Posterior.
