Q -- Why did your campaign lose? A -- I think the Republican ticket represented too much of the status quo, too much of what had gone on in these last eight years, that Americans were kind of shaking their heads like going, wait a minute, how did we run up a $10 trillion debt in a Republican administration, how have there been blunders with war strategy under a Republican administration.

Reagan had an Amnesty bill as well.

Have we been attacked again? Are we winning both wars? And how many jobs have been created in the last 8 yrs? Supreme Court Judges? Tax money paying for abortions? Any gun grabbing happen on Bush’s watch?

Well, I and everyone I know are ardently pro-life. I guess that explains the discrepancy.

It started early. Bill Clinton saved Paul O'Neil's ass when O'Neil was at Alcoa. BC negotiated a deal between Marc Rich and Alcoa whereby Alcoa got raw materials at a price no other company could get. O'Neil was in Clinton's back pocket and undermined Bush at every turn.

IIRC, O'Neil was a Cheney suggestion. Thanks a lot Dick.

I am not sorry to report that I will not join you in slamming President Bush. Why did you ping your “posse” to my comment? To get them all to try to bludgeon me into submission?

Ain’t gonna happen. I support and respect President Bush and I appreciate the challenges he has had. He has endured more than any President in my lifetime, and I don’t need armchair loudmouths to tell me what to think.

“Thou shalt not speak ill of any fellow Republican.”

Ronald Reagan, wasn’t it?

Blaming George Bush is just a way of passing the buck they where ahead after their convention and lost it when the banking crisis hit. What was John Mccains first reaction? Blame Chris Cox instead of blaming Barney Frank despite the fact the SEC went to congress 19 times about Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac.Thats typical John Mccain blame the Republican. Need I remind anyone of Mccains debate performances and leaving Jeremiah Wright off the table? Till like the weekend before the elction? All the exit polls showed later deciders went to Mccain early voting killed the guy there was no John Mccain register new voters drive come to think of it did the Republican party even do this at all?

Firstly, I never said he hasn't done any good. But he could have done far better had he not been so liberal.

And Reagan gave amnesty to 3-mil illegals, not the 12-20 -mil as proposed by Jorge. It was an experiment that failed, which is all the more reason it should not be done again.

No, we have not been attacked again. Not yet, anyway. But when we are, and I beleive we will be, it will possbly be because Jorge has left us vulnerable with the open borders.

A few good deeeds do not mitigate his failures, failures that could have been avoided if he sucked less.

Bush failed to use the Bully pulpit and bring things to the people. He instead let the media and the left use the pulpit day in and day out to trash him.
It would have been a different story had he challenged them daily on their propaganda.

In addition he or Rove allowed Bush's integrity to be called into question daily. One thing that could be said of Bush prior to election was that win or lose you always felt you were getting the truth. The MSM and Dems destroyed that and Bush and Co sat back and let it happen.

I think Republicans have lost the ability to inspire. They can’t speak worth a damn and they can’t write speeches worth a damn.

I think you’re right on target, but I would add three things:

1) it would have been nearly impossible for any R. to win this year against the Mediascum propaganda storm aimed at carrying Obama to the WH (combined of course with the dim economic picture);

2) had McCain and his team recognized early on that “it’s the economy, stupid” would be the main theme of the election (should have been obvious even before the mid-Sept. meltdown) then maybe they could have prepared a better economic package and team;

3) so long as McCain was unwilling to allow the Obamessiah to truly be taken down for all of his radical and racist and corrupt ALLIES (not mere associates) from Chicago the McCain team was always facing a steep uphill struggle.

Only for a few days after the RNC did McCain/Palin ever lead in the polls, and that was due to the positive boost that Sarah Palin gave to the ticket. However, once the Lehman and AIG meltdowns started the huge mess in mid-Sept., only a tremendous McCain response could have turned things around.... obviously that did not happen.

Yes, but can Sarah improve her image among moderate voters? She is loved by us, but viewed as a dolt by everyone else.

Sounds like you believe it is the gun that kills people rather than the thoughts and behaviors that pull the trigger.

I wish people here would take the time to post comments on this article at the site where it’s posted. The Obamites always flock to these articles and spam them with Palin insults.
