We've been doing incursions into a number of countries, including Iran, Somalia, and Yemen for along time.
The conducted raids and Predator hits have all had boots on the ground first. We never do that without an XO.
So this is no big deal.

I think that during the next four years, ‘leak’ isn’t going to accurately describe the unauthorized release of America’s most carefully guarded secrets. Granted, it hasn’t for some time, what with the democrats being so eager to outdo each other and cause whatever maximal damage they can to the country.
But I believe we’re about to enter a new era, orders of magnitude worse than anything that’s gone before... a tsunami of secrets (with Obama himself perhaps being the chief source) — the release of many of which we the public will never hear about, but our enemies will. God help us. This could very well be the end of the Founding Father’s grand experiment in liberty.
This is a coupe and we are so head up the arse clueless, amazed, frightened... that we will all march right along to Inauguration Day proud that we elected a black guy and not seeing the “creepy” monster who has NO intention of following our laws or protecting us. He gets power and the first thing he does is destroy the country. Won't we all feel good!

I don’t understand how this is supposed to be a secret. Bush was always very upfront about the fact that we were going to seek out and engage AQ wherever they might be lurking, whether in the land of friend or foe. How is this a leak?

Yeah — interesting that it’s mere days since Obama got the TS brief on world events. It doesn’t take much gray matter to figure out the source of this leak. What a prick.
Correct. In his speech during the service at the National Cathedral 3 days after the attacks, GWB told the world that there would be actions we would see, and actions in the shadows that we would not see. This order sanctions the latter, and it seems has been fruitful in that we have had no further attacks inside CONUS. Al qaeda is certainly well aware that US operators have been busy since 9/11. Candygram, anyone?
