Barack Obama will enter the White House without any military experience and with a playbook that emphasizes diplomacy, behind a president who waged two wars and presided over some of the largest-ever defense budget increases.
So, how will President Obama be received at the Pentagon? Much depends on his first moves.
One of his senior security advisers, former Rep. Lee Hamilton (D-Ind.), said even though the president-elect has experience on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, hell need a strong defense team that works together well.

Watch the recruiting numbers. It occurs to me why Dems support the draft. They know the volunteer force is in deep trouble when they run things.

“a playbook that emphasizes diplomacy” ???
Ask Nancy Reagan about the AIC’s diplomacy skills.

Clinton, when disembarking from Marine One, was told to return the Marine’s salute. I suspect Obama will be equally clueless.

“even though the president-elect has experience on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee,”
But my understanding is that he never showed up to any meetings.
He has ZERO experience.

Reenlistment will drop like a rock! That is why you see these subtle hints towards a mandatory citizen's service and the dreaded draft. They know the military does not respect them and soldiers will start retiring in record numbers!

It really scares me that Hussein Obamah now knows most, if not all, of America's military and intelligence secrets.

MIght we expect Obama’s Secretray of Defense to be anything like Congressman Les Aspin — Clinton’s first SecDef and former Chairman of the Armed Services Committee — who screwed America’s military up badly in the “BlackHawk Down” fiasco in Somalia?

And perform the salute with no snap, no pride, just a hand-wave.

I served in the USAF under Bush I and Clinton. Operation Southern Watch was a real mission but Bosnia was a joke.
I will bet that it will be much worse under President Obama. Enlistment numbers will plummet as conservatives and Southerners, who serve in the military in much greater numbers, will not want to join Obama’s military.

I saw something to that effect, too, in the USA Today: Here is an article I found: http://www.usatoday.com/news/politics/election2008/2008-08-14-military-donations_N.htm

Enlistment numbers will drop like a stone. So will Reenlistment numbers. Watch for Democrats like Charlie Rangel to call for a draft also known as black employment.

It'll be interesting to see if the Marine turns to face Obama’s back after the salute. I remember when Clinton was CIC, some just saluted and then stared straight ahead.

reenlistment can be solved with stop loss. Not sure how that program works but it’s in use now to retain certain critical specialties. It could be extended.

I’d be thinking about different places and names myself if in the shoes of any active duty military.
The 0bomber means to nullify military personnel one way or another.
