Karl Rove - Wants President-elect Obama to Succeed
Fox News ^ | 6 Nov 2008 | O'Reilly Factor

Posted on 11/09/2008 6:52:39 AM PST by subbob

O'REILLY: All right. Are you worried about Obama? Are you worried about this man?

ROVE: Look, I think…

O'REILLY: Come on, tell me the truth as an American, not as a pundit, not as a…

ROVE: Let me tell you what I feel as an American. First, as an American, I love my country and I want my president to succeed.

O'REILLY: So you want him to succeed…

ROVE: I want him to succeed.

O'REILLY: ...even though he's in the other party.

ROVE: That's right. Look, I was there when a president came in whom a lot of people in this country said, we don't think he's president, we will never accept him as legitimate. And I saw how bad it was for the country.

O'REILLY: The Bush haters.

ROVE: The Bush haters. And so I don't want to be one of those. I want to be a person who says I want our new president-elect to succeed. When he takes that oath of office after January 20, it's the obligation of every American to give him a chance. And we agree with him when we think he's right. We hope he's open to persuasion if his mind is open and not made up. And when he's wrong, we do have an obligation to say with all due respect we disagree.

Hear Hear Staten Island, the difference is, we don’t need a ODS, we have facts and Economics on our side, Obama’s ideas are financial death for the US, and for our future.

WE don’t need “911 was an inside job” nuttery to defeat Obama, we have Friedman, Misses, and Welch.

Add in the fact that his ideas are Death of the West type ideas, and we have plenty of factual points to defeat the man and his “US of KKKA” plans.

If you watch the whole thing, Rove never would commit to saying he thought Obama WOULD be successful. O’Reilly typically tired to nail him to the wall, repeatedly, but never did.

Look, Rove is a consummate politician. Why give O’Reilly or anyone in this media - a sound bite - the week after the election - saying he thinks Obama’s policies will be disastrous?

He just said he wants Obama to succeed. He didn’t specify his definition of success.

"If Zero can succeed in implementing his Marxist ideas,
conservatives should have an easy walk into office in four years."

Are you sure of that?
Look at the evolution of the welfare state.
From social security to all the myriad entitlements.
Socialized medicine is a certainty now.
Money is no object as long as the dummies around the world are willing to bankroll us.
The workers of a decade from now are liable to be happy to keep 40% of their income.
Even if Obongo crashes and burns and is run out of town on a rail 4 years from now,
we will be saddled with the consequences of his "administration" forevermore.

I want Zero to fail. Miserably.

I want him treated exactly the same way Bush was treated for the last eight years.

If McCain would have won, just how many democrats would have been on TV wishing him success? Want to take a guess?

4 years? You don’t get it, it’s over. China will now loan money to the liberal, socialist U.S. government indefinately to expand the government welfare rolls, and every other social program. It’s less expensive and less messier than war. The majority of voters from then on will ALWAYS vote Democrat. Hence, the People’s State of America.

The idealogical war between the two nations is being waged, the Communist China will buy it’s victory, their money is not being loaned.

Oh well, the teenagers and young men on Normandy Beach secured almost 70 years for us, that’s not bad.

+1 -

And this type BS gets pushed out every time a DEM wins....but never when a Rep does. When a Rep wins we are given stories (a la, Kerry / Gore - losers) about how it is honoring the Country to go back and continue the opposition fight Vs the new POTUS (as that is how America works).... Yet, McCain is suppose to help Obama we are now told.

Such utter BS.

Rove is part of why we are here, and got a great job on FNC predicting doom (the obvious). But I will say that publicly republicans must say we want Obama to succeed. Its part of the required cynical attack strategy

1) We want Obama to succeed (publicly)
2) We covertly infiltrate democrat and democrat webwites and CSPAN democrat lines and encourage moonbats-Sheenans to demand Pelosi/Obama go Chavis (covertly). We say, "what is their excuse now?"
3) We slow down bills in congress and use talk radio/FNC to bring them down, at a minimum republican house unity
4) We talk about how democratic empire cannot get things done and talk about Pelosi Reid economy of past few years(publicly) )

Step 2 will seem too cynical to some but consider: Pelosi kept Moonbats/Sheenan/Conyers in chains to win this election, we need to stir a moonbat revolution of dem party from bottom(this would not work with Bush in office) . Things we need them to try so we can oppose: 1) Immediate surrender in Iraq 2) Increase in AMT 3) Shutdown of talk radio 4) Fully socialized medicine Micheal Moore style 5) add your worst pre-election fears here

Why would I want Obama’s agenda to suceed? I voted for someone else. I want Obama to fail, big time. And I’ll enjoy the pain of his followers who were to stupid to see it coming.

I don’t want to see the Kenyan Clown “succeed” at turning this into a socialist nation. We have never reversed a single major entitlement, and adding new ones is an extraordinarily bad idea.

The problem with this is the definition of "success."

We cannot possibly wish the avowed enemy of the literal U.S. Constitution, the enemy of liberty and the enemy of capitalism to "succeed" in destroying all we hold dear.

Can we not at least be honest here?

What are we supposed to wish this Marxist succeeds at doing?

Do we hope he succeeds at his avowed goal of reducing military strength?

Do we hope he succeeds at redistributing wealth in America?

Do we hope he succeeds at abandoning support of Israel?

Do we hope he succeeds in eliminating dissent on the radio airwaves by re-instituting "The Fairness Doctrine?"

Do we hope he succeeds at granting amnesty to millions of illegal aliens and giving them the right to vote?

Do we hope he succeeds in hiding the sources of millions of illegal, foreign campaign donations that assisted him getting elected?

Do we hope he succeeds in blaming Bush for the sub-prime mortgage mess when the Democrats pushed these loans upon reluctant banks?

Do we hope he succeeds in appointing far-left liberal judges at all levels of the federal judiciary, including the Supreme Court?

Do we hope he succeeds in nationalizing all major corporations in financial difficulty?

Do we hope he succeeds in instituting government health care and destroys the finest health care system in the world?

Do we hope he succeeds in punishing the productive business people who risk their money and hard work to succeed only so Obama can take the fruits of that risk and hard work and give it to the losers of society?

We need to hope that over the next 70 days, Obama “Sees the Light” and gains an appreciation of American institutions, traditions, and the traditions of the Presidency, and may God help him do so. If it doesn’t happen and Obama doesn’t see the light, we are in for a world of hurt.

No, No and No!!

I do not want him to succeed. I will not support turning this country into a socialist country.

This is a war between The Republic vs Socialism. This election was just the opening shot. We have to get on a war footing so to speak.

Tit for Tat. Use their own tactics against them. We cannot keep taking the high road. I am sick of it.

For myself I am drawing the line here.

There have been several people on this site that have opined that they think that Obama didn’t want to win.

His reaction and his victory speech just didn’t seem to be happy like you have seen in the past with Presidents who have won.

And as noted, his family wasn’t even on the stage.

There is something off about this guy. Of course, he has had a bizarre background and that could effect one mentally.

There are tabloid reports that Bush started drinking again and the Laura Bush doesn’t have the same relationship with him anymore. Could be completely false.

But imagine what the pressures of the job could do to Obama - a man completely unprepared for this job.

“So the Bush Haters...win?...”

All of those that voted for Obama took the advice of AlQaeda and humiliated Bush and the Republicans. What does that tell you about the electorate? I could understand why blacks voted for him, but what about all the White, Asian and Hispanics? What the hell was in their Kool-Aid?
