Does anyone agree with me that passing a basic civics test, producing an ID and having a job should be requirements for voting?

So if you’re laid off a day before the election, you can’t vote?

Keep talking like that and 51 percent of people in this country will slap the racist label on you.

I agree about producing an ID and GA requires you to do that. I don’t agree about the job issue though. I know a several informed people who don’t have a job at the moment. I’m mixed on the civics test. For someone my age, I’d say yes (I’m 32). But I wouldn’t expect my grandparents in their 80s to be required to do that.

I would eliminate the job requirement and instead add a “government assistance free for the previous two years” requirement.

Absolutely. And not being able to vote if you live within a 1000 yards of the projects

Basic Civic Test? How about a basic ENGLISH test? Here in NV you can opt to make your vote in Spanish. A coworker told me one woman at the poll couldn't read any of it in either language and someone was reading it all to her and then she asked “Well who do I vote for?” These people should be allowed to vote!!! Yes an ID would be nice too. They never asked for mine.

Not a bad idea, but even that won’t cure prejudice.
