"A Japanese man has posted an online petition, arguing that Japan should change its laws to allow people to marry comic book characters. Japan, currently, like most countries legally only allows humans to marry. What's more bizarre about this story is that the online petition has attracted more than 1,000 other people."

I’m sure I’ve mentioned this before but...this may be the funniest bit on a show that was hilarious from day one and never quit. The only one that comes close for me is the bit where Rimmer was smacking himself in the groin with a hammer.
Wait a minute...what’s to stop every anime fan on the planet from marrying the same chick? They could just say they’re married to their copy?

Hmmm, then sea turtles should kosher - they have fins and scales.

I've never thought of that.
As I understand it, there's a statement somewhere in the Talmud that "there are fish [water animals] with fins and no scales, but there are no fish with scales and no fins." Sea turtles would seem to go against that. But then, so would sea snakes.
I'd check with a poseq before I ate anything!
I think Obama would allow this
And a herpetologist. (Sea snakes have deadly venom.)
Does that make no difference?
Actually, yes.
Bestiality was forbidden after Eve was created. Before that Adam had to "know" all the animals in order to discover they weren't his "helpmeet" and in order to name them.
"Have your fun, yeah...but marry one? Think of the children. Society's just not ready."
I particularly love that one.
