President-elect Barack Obama called Nancy Reagan this afternoon to apologize for a joke about her having heald "séances" in the White House, an Obama aide said.
“President-elect Barack Obama called Nancy Reagan today to apologize for the careless and off handed remark he made during today’s press conference," said transition spokeswoman Stephanie Cutter. "The President-elect expressed his admiration and affection for Mrs. Reagan that so many Americans share and they had a warm conversation."

He meant it. Pretty obscure thing to pop up as a “joke.”
The guy can’t even conduct one press conference without making a completely ridiculous remark. It’s gonna be a loooooong four years.
He’s only been president for negative 75 days and he’s already shown that he can’t be trusted without the teleprompter. No original thoughts, no original statements will be allowed. He will just have to be hidden in the White House and sign press releases written by Rahm Emanuel.
I bet most of Obama’s supporters believe in astrology as well.

Why hasn't Obama gone and held a funeral for his white granny? If she died the day before election, why hasn't he gone back to Hawaii or held a service of some kind for her?

1.Mary Todd Lincoln held seances to channel their dead son Tad.
2. Nancy Reagan held seances to find out about schedules for her husband after the assassination attempt.
3. Obama obviously watched the JFK press conferences as a precursor to this and thought off the cuff humor was a key ingredient of their success...he was right about that.
4. But JFK was genuinely funny and smart in a non-threatening way. Obama is a narcissist and narcissists seldom have great senses of humor because they lack empathy and are only interesed in themselves.
5. Obama’s attempts at humor today...his quip about Nancy Reagan...his calling himself and dogs mutts (instead of what they are which is mixed breed)...both fell flat and were very insensitive. Obama can only be sensitive about himself. Sociopaths do not truly feel for others.
6. Overall, the pot shot drive by humor at other’s expense, the weird snarky laughs and the avoidance of fully answering questions all in combined to make this debut press conference fall flat. You could see how Obama’s charm could wear thin after a few more of these.
7. Don't look for a long honeymoon. Next summer should be fun.
The inimitable Mike Trivisanno had his intern monitor the presser today. She reported that in approximately ten minutes of speechifying, including his prepared opening remarks Obama uttered "Uh" or "um" 162 times.
And this guy went to Harvard.
Perhaps he could have a Secretary of Apologies in his Cabinet. I think that Naomi Wolf could be a good candidate here.
Why in God’s name would his brain even go there? My fellow americans i’m afraid this was no accident... He seems to be very bitter toward white people, especially women!
Well of course he is going to be bipartisan. All of the talking heads on Fox immediately told us so when he clinched the election on Tuesday night.
