Barack Obama made history today in Nebraska.

Barack Obama The Democratic presidential candidate claimed an electoral vote in the Omaha-based 2nd Congressional District the first time in more than four decades a Democrat won any of Nebraskas electoral votes.
The Omaha World-Herald is calling the race after Obama won 8,434 out of 15,039 early votes that arrived too late to be included in Tuesdays results. They were counted today by Douglas County election officials.
Those ballots give Obama a 1,260-vote lead over Republican John McCain in the 2nd District.
It also added one more electoral vote to Obamas win over McCain in Tuesdays election. The electoral count now stands: Obama, 365, McCain, 162.
Only Missouris 11 electoral votes remain up in the air.
"We always knew we could do it, but it would be an uphill climb. Its great to see a little corner of Nebraska turn blue," said John Berge, state director for Obamas campaign. He said the win was a testament to all the work done by Obama staffers and volunteers.
Nebraska was one of the last states whose presidential race was in question after Tuesdays election. The other state left to be called is Missouri.
Obama won only one of Nebraskas five electoral votes. The other four went to McCain.
This is the first time since 1964 that a Nebraska electoral vote has gone to a Democrat. The state has been reliably Republican since Democrat Lyndon B. Johnson in his landslide victory over Barry Goldwater.
Obama aggressively ignored Nebraskas red hue this year, as he sent 16 paid staffers and opened three offices in Omaha. It was part of his strategy to expand the electoral map, and to fight for votes in traditional GOP strongholds.
A 1991 state law allowed Obama to concentrate his efforts on the Omaha metropolitan area, where Democrats outnumber Republicans.
Nebraska and Maine are the only two states in the nation that split its electoral votes based on congressional district. All the other states award their electoral votes on a winner-take-all system.
Nebraska is the first of the two to split its electoral votes.
Is this a nightmare, we’ll wake up and it is 1984 with President Reagan still in charge? Please.
Barack Hussein Omaha.
Everything except the President Reagan part. But it is definitely feeling like 1984...
The Orwellian one, not the historical one...
This is what happens when you spend 600 million and your opponent spends what? 100 million?
That’s like a ma and pa store taking on Walmart.
Obama was able to sell himself any way he liked for MONTHS, without much of a counter argument.
He did not tell people what a lefty he was, he ran as a moderate/conservative dem.
The Republicans in these places need to step up to the plate. So far NOT ONE of the drawn out counts has gone red. I can’t help but remember Christine Gregoire in Washington in 2004. They kept counting until they ‘found’ enough votes for her to win.

Everything is bigger, better, brighter when you're talking about 'the One', except it isn't bigger, better, or brighter. Oh well, there is that.
I shudder to think how far they will take this. I'm sure he takes a longer whiz than any other president elect ever did too.
The GOP ran a RINO...and look what happens...this state should not even been that close for a DNC win, or for them to rig the vote count
I guess that ASSlrod was right...the EMPTY SUIT EMPEROR was going to win by a landslide! Say goodbye to the USA and call her by her new name...USSA! :(
Oh dear. I'll have to explain to my CO why I've been UA for 24 years. Uhhh- I overslept, sir?
Electoral-vote.com also shows MO going blue finally. Why am I not surprised. McCain had been ahead by a few thousand for days but apparently the great sainted one has now moved ahead. Looks like he will have 376 EVs. I think that’s more than Clinton got in either election. Damn sorry statement on where America has gone.
I would have thought in order to have won all these red states Obama would have needed something like a 60-40 victory nationally. I guess not.
How many people could that Billion dollar campaign have fed? or sent to School? obama- Hypocrite.
This sucks, but could have been worse — at least we’re now rid of Hagel and the GOP candidates in the House and Senate all won.
Soon, they will be examining his bowel movements and seeing Jesus...
God help this country. This is gonna get very weird. I knew that as soon as I saw them crying in religious ecstacy on Tuesday night..
