Not one penny for liberals

Posted on 11/07/2008 2:47:55 AM PST by Comrade2277225

I've had two epiphanies in my life, the first came in my early twenties when I turned against my fundamentalist Christian upbringing. I admit this was more of a rebellion against the strict moral code of conduct rather than an ideological awakening, however over time I rationalized and validated my reasons for disbelief. I am comfortable with my religious views, or lack thereof, if not always comforted.

My second awakening of sorts started when I moved to California and saw liberalism in action. It has been a gradual process over the past couple of years but watching the election this year has really brought things into focus.

In our politics there is no integrity, no honesty, no reason, no consistency, no character. There is only the ignorant masses and those who manipulate them.

From top to bottom, the Obama campaign was one of the most disgusting episodes in American political history. From Acorn vote fraud, to Obama not being a natural born citizen, from Aunti to Ayers, from the massive amounts of untraceable donations, from the 'civilian defense force' to the Maliki suprise, from Gaza phonebanks to bankrupting coal, from the race card to the soviet flags; this campaign has been nothing but an exercise in democrat hypocrisy, aided and abetted by a socialist media and carried on the shoulders of a selfish, valueless, and ignorant populace.

Looking at what America has already become, not to mention what it will be after 4 years of Obamapelosi, I have no hope. This country is nearly done. Perhaps that it is a bit melodramatic, I have no plans at this time to cease being a law abiding citizen and am not willing to surrender just yet. But I have started taking steps to 'go John Galt' and I am curious as to if any of you have any suggestions or links to ways I can avoid putting one GOD DAMN cent of my money in a liberal mouth. I am currently limited in the fact that I cannot move out of California for at least a year or so.

This is what I do so far: I do not spend any money on movies, cd's, dvd's or any other trash that comes out of Hollywood. I watch very little TV and less of the major networks. When online, I visit CNN or MSNBC as little as possible.

I've always been a buy American kind of person to keep jobs here, but (and I think I got this idea here at FR) if I am going to be enriching communists with my purchases anyway, I may as well get my items for the lowest possible price. WALMART here I come.

I am tired of placing my assets in a monetary system that charges me money to protect them, will not protect me against ID theft by illegals, and which devalues my earnings through the uncontrolled printing of money. I have begun withdrawing my money slowly and placing it in shall we say, more tangible commodities.

I have ceased frequenting all of the major fast food chains due to their hiring of illegal immigrants and the fact that I can barely place an order due to the fact that their employees cannot speak English.

I buy very few 'toy' items and use what things I do purchase for as long as possible.

Are there any websites that promote conservative produced items or companies? I would love to hear if any of you have any gameplan for keeping your money out of the mouths of the moochers. Also, my current financial institution is WaMu (aka Morgan), I cannot completely remove all funds from the system, so is there any bank out there that does not traffic with illegals or give money to democrats?

Follow Emmanuel’s example - set up your home as a tax-exempt charity.

Follow the example of the California Congressman who walked away from TWO mortgages.

Follow the example of the Demons, lie on your tax returns.

Cut off the cable - or get the bare minimum, around here I can get 20 stations for $5/mo - there is a minimum under basic that cable companies don’t like to broadcast.

Watch movies and tv shows online [streaming - don’t download]

Another thought—utilize OpenSecrets.org and search by zip code to find businesses that supported conservative candidates and give them your business.

I share your pessimism about America. I believe we've been devolving for sometime. It's the rich kid's son syndrome writ large. We've had it so good, and many simply don't appreciate what makes us great.

As for what to do about it, I've been thinking a lot about what Jesus said in the Sermon on the Mount, to wit:

"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."

I relate also to John Winthrop's words, made famous by Ronald Reagan, about a "shining city on a hill."

And so it seems to me, the thing to do is to try my best to be an example. To let my light shine, so that others may see my good works. Allow me to give one quick story as a small example of how I've put that into practice regarding this country that I love so deeply.

The other day I was outside my workplace with a young co-worker. He's in his 20s, meaning he's even more devolved than I was. It means his schooling has indoctrinated him, no doubt, with white guilt, horror tales of colonialism and racism, and has failed to teach him about pride and patriotism. He consumes the popular culture, which exacerbates this same problem.

So we're outside chatting, and there is this small pile of American flags, the 18" x 24" kind, on sticks, and they'd been tossed in a corner by the stairs, and were now laying on the pavement, discarded, covered with autumn leaves.

I picked up all the flags and said to my young friend, "I'm rescuing these flags. This is no way to treat "Old Glory."" So I gathered up the flags, rolled them up, and took them all inside into my office.

The way I see it, I let my light shine in that moment. I set an example for this young cub just setting out in the world. I showed him that even a cynical "cool" guy like me thinks it's important to show respect to our flag, and that a disregard for such things is offensive. I didn't make a big show of it, I didn't preach to him about liberalism or tell him what to think. I simply acted out correct behavior in his presense, knowing that it would lodge in his brain somewhere.

Who knows if he will make anything of it? If it will lodge in his memory or influence his perceptions in the long run. And it's just a tiny example of what I mean.

Let me just sum up by saying that we can only control what we can control. So the question is what do we do with those things we can control. I believe the thing to do, the most important thing we can do if we are worried or unhappy about our fellow Americans, is to let our light shine, so that they may see our good works, and glorify our Father in heaven.

Arguing with people doesn't work. Alienating people doesn't work. What works is to let your light shine, and allow them to see it for themselves, for its own sake.

That you just came to this on the day after election day when BHO was elected into office, says enough.

Let your light shine
Agree 100%. I really dont think conservatives will be in the majority for a long time. Our 40 years in the wilderness start now. Let's keep our heads up and continue to live our values and lifestyles.

You won’t have to worry about Walmart after the DemoRATs pass the “Employee Free Choice Act” which also could be called the “Walmart Unionization Act”. This act will cause massive job losses and destroy our economy. Obama and his adoring followers are clueless about business.

I am doing the same thing. Our DVD player and home theater sound system recently gave up the ghost, but I wont be replacing them. I will not be partaking in any of Hollywood’s lame product anyway, and spending priorities have just changed. I also desperately need a newer truck, mine is 22 years old. I wont buy one in an Obamanation. I work 200 yards from my house so I can make the truck work for what errands I run for our farm.
