AP calls NC for Obama...I'm sick

Tons of people told me that NC would never turn blue. Well it has and being a born and bred tarheel, I'm just sick!!

President-elect Barack Obama won the majority of votes in North Carolina, according to The Associated Press.

Obama’s win in North Carolina is the first for a Democratic presidential candidate since Jimmy Carter won the state in 1976.

The news agency says it declared Sen. Obama the winner after canvassing N.C. counties to determine the number of outstanding provisional ballots. The survey showed there weren’t enough remaining ballots for Sen. John McCain, a Republican, to close a 13,693-vote deficit.

Missouri is the only state that remains too close to call.

Meanwhile, polling data show that money had a whole lot to do with Obama's victory.

Among the findings in exit polling data from CNN.com:

* Some 60 percent of North Carolina voters said the economy was their No. 1 concern in the election. Among those voters, Obama defeated McCain, 52 percent to 48 percent. * Some 51 percent of Tar Heel voters said they were “very worried” about the economy. Of those voters, Obama won, 54 percent to 45 percent. McCain carried voters who said they were “somewhat worried” and “not too worried” about the economy. There wasn’t enough data to determine who won voters saying they were “not worried at all” about the economy. * Exactly half of North Carolina voters make less than $50,000 a year. Those voters broke for Obama over McCain, 57 percent to 42 percent. Among voters earning $50,000 or more, McCain won, 56 percent to 43 percent. * The percentage of voters who said they thought national economic conditions were excellent: 0. Some 95 percent of voters said conditions were “not so good” or “poor.”

Of all candidates on the ballot in my county, the only Republican who won was a lady on our school board. Makes me sick, too.

New Yorkers like to relocate to North Carolina.

This is what happens eventually.

That One is also likely win one of Nebraska’s electoral votes:

Well, there’s nothing like the clarity that comes from a complete thrashing. The Dims were convinced they really won in 2000, and came back in 2004 with the same type of candidate with the same strategy, and same result. Let’s hope we don’t do the same in ‘12.

“win in North Carolina is the first for a Democratic presidential candidate since Jimmy Carter”

speaks volumes.

The Republican party in NC is in critical condition. Until some new ideas and leaders are injected nothing will change. The current leaders in the party should be forced to resign in disgrace.

I think you can safely move NC over into the Dem column from now on. The Dems already ran the state govt and in addition to voting for Obama gave virtually all state offices to Dems. I expect our remaining Rep. Senator is next on the Dem menu whenever he comes up for re election.

That’s OK.

Our enemies are already gearing up for the The Weak Ones ascent.

If 0bama does what he said he would then we will be primed and ready for an attack.

Democrats won’t defend America, they’ll blame America.

And 0bama supporters can blame themselves for the death toll.

Mark my words, our enemies smell blood in the water with his election.

The ‘share our wealth’ candidate wins among the stupid, the lazy, and the socialists.

I’m not sure that any Republican could have won in this environment. What I do know is that Bush royally screwed us with that bailout bill. That’s never going to go away. The left loves it because it’s a big pile of money to blow. Wall Street loves it because it can dump its crap on the American taxpayer.

Think of it this way, the Dems went on and won the presidency and increased their majorities in both houses of the Congress. Now they are claiming a mandate and are ready to ram their stupid policies down our throats. On top of it, a President Obama now has a check for $700 bil or so sitting in the Treasury Department.

Maybe if the GOP opted not to push through the bailout everything would’ve really gone to Hell. I’m not sure what we got instead, but it’s not looking too good.

My county went for McCain also but its little comfort. How can a state so dependent on the military vote for a guy who wants to slash the defense budget. Fact is that this year over 60% of the ballots were straight party voters, and guess what most weren’t voting republican

Don't be ... think now how McCain's staff is now trashing Sarah. She brought life into his campaign and now??? Everywhere she went she drew massive crowds ... now they've tossed her under the bus and said she cost them the election. If it wasn't for Sarah I would have sat out this election .... so don't be sad, in hindsight it was a wake-up call (as Rush stated) ... we'll rebuild the party with young Conservatives and take America back from these Marxists who are now going to be in power. God Bless America ... we're survivors!!!!! Photobucket

North Carolina has become more technology and education oriented in recent years.

REPUBLICANS AREN'T SEEN AS EDUCATED so THE EDUCATED DON'T WANT TO BE SEEN AS REPUBLICANS.

They have voted accordingly.

Note that I used the word seen. I know there are educated Republicans. But the perception is there that Republicans are backwards and uneducated.

And there ARE plenty of Republicans that proudly wear their lack of education as a badge of honor.

Yeah, we have a f*&^ing Marxist president, but they're proud. Yes'siree.
