News has been circulating around GOP insiders for weeks that McCain campaign honchos Rick Davis and Steve Schmidt were planning to blame Sarah Palin for McCain’s loss. This was expected to be an effort to punt the blame for their own failures to the side of the ticket that was most popular with the base, attracted the largest rally crowds, and scared the living bejeepers out of the opposing party.

Speaking of illegal contributions - I hope they investigate that state employee in Ohio that tried to trash Joe - It defies logic that a new government employee could afford the max contribution - they should check for any money she received - like $10000 from which she donated the $2300 and kept the rest.

Isn’t this an FBI issue?

Hey I’m getting started on 2010 - we have been gerrymandered into a highly democrat district. The democrap won 62-38%; total receipts: $1,298,686 vs $31,738 - seems like a tough place to start. This was the one and only time the repub ran so obviously not a serious candidate and also, he is from the small gerrymandered part of the district - probably should be in the democrap part as republicans here will always vote repub.

This will definitely be a challenge. Repeat: Sure hope Newt gets in!

This is why I’m so glad Tom Cole is being challenged for RNCC by Pete Sessions... I will NOT give a dime to RNCC as long as he is in charge and picking and choosing who HE wants to run for congress and not supporting those he personally doesn’t approve of. We lost out Rick Renzi AZ seat and this didn’t have to happen, we knew Renzi couldn’t run again because of his legal problems and the RNCC should have been all over saving that seat and wasn’t... we “almost” got gerrymandered in to that district about six years ago when AZ redistricted and our local reps went to court, fought it and won... thank goodness this is still a reliably GOP district.

They ridicule her.

It is an effective means of eliminating a threat, and far easier when you control the media than dealing with substantiative issues, which might expose their weaknesses.

It is the only viable means they have to remove her from the running, and with control of information flow to over half of the electorate, it might work. It plays to the prejudices of the urbane and ignorant.

Good info - thanks!
Laura did the windbag o’reilly’s show tonight - so I watched and it sounded like the entire RNC will be thrown out!
IMHO there should be no district that should be written off - with a little opposition research you can put anyone away - especially if they’ve been part of the corruption for a few years! I will never give another dollar to the corrupt RNC. There’s a lot of info out there - opponent’s contributors, promises, etc.
We will do it!

Again, I maintain that this was the worst pair of candidates fielded in at least 60 years.

Maintain all you want, this was a group effort, and Palin was not in on the defeat teams agenda.

In your efforts to remain fair and balanced you resort to promoting lies.

It is BOR's revenge for Palin not appearing on his show.

Rove probably slyly suggested them?

Wow, someone besides me understands Rove's true agenda.

No, we need a hard-core intellect with a sharp understanding of policy and tactics. We need a Tony Blaire who can go toe to toe with anyone in the media or in the opposition, who understand grass roots politics and how to organize, and who is a right-wing stalwart.

Did you know Harry Truman graduated from High School, he seemed to handle the Press pretty well. I saw him Speak from the back of a train, in Vinita Oklahoma, so I have observed politics for a while. My parents God Bless their souls were Roosevelt Dems, I was the contrarian Republican in the family.
