Fox Dishes The Dirt On Palin
Washington Independent ^ | 11/6/08 9:25 AM | Matthew DeLong

The effort within the McCain campaign’s upper ranks to pin Sen. John McCain’s loss of the presidential election on Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is now in full swing, and Fox News’ Carl Cameron eagerly plays the gossip columnist.

On “Fox Report” last night with Shephard Smith, Cameron said he learned during the campaign that many within the McCain team were concerned that Palin “lacked the degree of knowledgeability” to be a heartbeat away from the presidency — but agreed not to report the details until the after the election.

The sources are all “anonymous”. How do we know this is not some made up “Times Average Man in the McCain Campaign”. You do remember the “Times Average Man on the Street”.

..I still have that picture in my mind of that very uncomfortable handshake and hug at McCain’s concession speech—there must be some there there...

I saw the interview with O’Reilly and Cameron. Cameron was tearing Sarah up.

I am thinking that the media and their friends are coming hard for the right. We will be thrown under the bus by these people.

I can tell you this much: The next time this Party elects a moderate Maverick to run, I will stay home. I should have done it this time, since McCain didn't stand a chance anyhow. If a lot of folks done that, the RNC would get the message.

The RNC is taking us for granted. They count on me being there for them no matter what. Well, I am going to fight for my turf still. I want to throw people like McCain under the bus. We don't win with moderates! We win with Conservatives. This is our turf and we should fight for it. If the RNC throws us under the bus, then we will be forced to throw the RNC under the bus.

I think John McCain should step up and name names on these gossipmongers. The same people who ran a pathetic campaign need to be pointing the finger at themselves. Obama’s people outsmarted them at every turn. Without Sarah Palin I don’t think McCain would have had a chance. What conservative vote he got was due to her presence on the ticket and it was her efforts that energized the campaign. While I will always respect Senator McCain he seems incapable of showing the fire you need on the campaign trail. Reaching across the aisle is nice rhetoric but it doesn’t mean much when you are in a knockdown political campaign. Obama just outslugged him at every opportunity during the past three months. I was an early Fred Thompson supporter but at least he realized early on he didn’t have the energy to slug it out until this November.

Cameron is a low life for gleefully reporting those rumors, obviously untrue. Let him name the “McCain staffer” who said these horrible things and the fun will begin. In the meantime, email Fox to fire this useless puke.

These same anonymous sources claimed McCain fired one campaign worker but the next day he was still there and claimed not to have been fired.

I was disgusted with Carl Cameron’s reporting. It was nothing more than tabloid style reporting. I suspect that most of what was “reported” isn’t even true.

Gee guy, believe those who are tearing her down instead of seeing what the scenery looks like in 3-4 years? “she is a nice woman” kinda says it all about you, doesn’t it?

HEY, CARL THE CLEVER...WHAT THE HECK DOES "KNOWLEDGEABILITY" MEAN?

Go back to English class. Knowledge is not a verb, and is able to do nothing. There IS such a word as "knowability," the ability to know--"know" is a verb-- something. And there is such a word as knowledge, a noun.

I had to look it up, but yes it is a word:

knowledgeability - Possessing or showing knowledge or intelligence; perceptive and well-informed.

So in the closing weeks of the campaign when the same people who did this, peered into another staffers computer to see if he was trying to refute the rumors they started about her I guess that was also a “heads up”.

I completely agree. We need more just like her, people who will not compromise their principles for the sake of money and/or power.

Unnamed source news items belong at the bottom of bird cages. If they don’t have the guts to reveal themselves they are less than worthless.

The unholy alliance of Romneyites and Obamanites to take down this woman has been forged.

I stand by the fact that Sarah Palin was the reason I didnt have to hold my nose and cast my ballot for McCain. If not for her I would have voted for Mr. Potato Head or Alf. With that said, if it is true that she didnt know Africa was a continent, I find that a little disturbing. Maybe her schooling is to blame, but disturbing in any event.
