Fox Dishes The Dirt On Palin
Washington Independent ^ | 11/6/08 9:25 AM | Matthew DeLong

The effort within the McCain campaign’s upper ranks to pin Sen. John McCain’s loss of the presidential election on Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is now in full swing, and Fox News’ Carl Cameron eagerly plays the gossip columnist.

On “Fox Report” last night with Shephard Smith, Cameron said he learned during the campaign that many within the McCain team were concerned that Palin “lacked the degree of knowledgeability” to be a heartbeat away from the presidency — but agreed not to report the details until the after the election.

This is very discouraging. And to think conservatives went to bat for McCain.

We've been hoodwinked again.

I respect that you are defending your view. Fair criticism would still get you some abuse- but claiming she didn’t know africa is a continent is silly- and you know that.

No doubt she was green and needed a lot of preparation real quick.

Well, you need to go look a tsome history. When we select moderates Repbulicans, we lose. We will win with a Conservative. We have never lost with a strong Conservative. I think Palin is a strong Conservative. I don’t trust the media and the likes of Carl Cameron.

Before I throw Palin under the National bus, I would rather check the sources and the motives behind these sources. My guess is, these attacks are coming from the likes of Mitt and others who are interested in running in ‘12. I also thinks the libs will attack her because she is a threat.

If she really was stupid, why would these people attack her? They would give her enough rope to hang herself. Instead, these people see her as a threat and are on the attack already.

Your not helping the Conservative cause. You are falling for the moderate liberal slander.

Let’s stand by her side and listen to her side of the story, before acting like a liberal and believing everything you see on the TV.

We have never lost with a strong Conservative.

Toomey, Blackwell and Santorum. Three strong conservatives that come top of mind who hold the elective office they ran for.

And what about the past two strong conservatives who ran against Murtha the last two cycles?

Murtha all but handed it to him on a silver platter and still won.

I should have stated for the President.

The only moderate Pres that won was GHWB and he came in on the coattails of Reagan.

I stand with Palin and am SICK TO DEATH of FOX, CNN, MSNBC,..and the likes!! FORGET THE MEDIA...PLEASE!!!! They are all corrupt, including FOX...

I agree. Palin is a rising star and conservative. She may be the most popular Republican today, so they try to destroy her ,but is ain't going to happen.

Well, You have to look at how they ran and won office. These people ran with a strong Concervative slant to their platform.

What they do when they get in office is different. But you have to look at what motivated the people to vote.

Conservative ideals are not dead, they just are not represented well.

Palin was such an unusually normal person that I kind of think she would NOT want to further punish herself by reaching for higher office yet again. More than half of America in effect told her she didn’t belong in this milieu, though of course, she belongs there as much as anyone else. If I were her, I would probably do what she’s doing, return to AK, and try to get things done as Governor. The unfulfilled promise of pipelines is now toast under an Obama administration. AK will be “froze out” so to speak. This guy is out to destroy opposition, ALL opposition, and if it takes him and his minions half of his first term to do it, you can bet that’s what they will do. THey will find new and more subtle ways to destroy talk radio, and internet sites like this one. I KNOW this.I have NO hope for him reforming or “seeing the light” and becoming a President for all Americans. Eight years of Bush Derangment Syndrome were practiced and perfected to do a lot more than just replace the occupant of the White House.
They consider this a MANDATE, which is why the messianic enthusiasm of those enormous crowds was played up so much.
Like the Islamists, who will tell you upfront that they want to drive Israel into the sea, and behead everyone not like them, this guy told America, albeit circuitously, that he intended to shame them into giving up the wealth they worked for, and he’s already doing it, and just like the Islamists, give it to “everyone who’s not like them”, as a form of reparations, so we can all be on an equal playing field. This is obviously socialism, which will continually push toward morphing into Communism.
My instincts tell me we are in for a disaster.

“These people are going to try and shred her after the campaign to divert blame from themselves,” a McCain insider said, referring to McCain’s chief strategist, Steve Schmidt, and to Nicolle Wallace, a former Bush aide who has taken a lead role in Palin’s campaign. Palin’s partisans blame Wallace, in particular, for Palin’s avoiding of the media for days and then giving a high-stakes interview to CBS News’ Katie Couric, the sometimes painful content of which the campaign allowed to be parceled out over a week.

“A number of Gov. Palin’s staff have not had her best interests at heart, and they have not had the campaign’s best interests at heart,” the McCain insider fumed, noting that Wallace left an executive job at CBS to join the campaign.

A mind-numbed chill has set in even among those who voted McCain, holding their noses or not,
as they line up to “give the new President a chance”.
The fact that “America” proved “America” is not “racist” by electing him, has NOT been laid to rest. Criticize ANYTHING he does, and the entire issue is revived, stronger and more demagogic than ever.
The DEms consider this victory a MANDATE, which is why the messianic enthusiasm of those enormous crowds was played up so much.As scary and “reminiscent” as it looked to us, it looked like Heaven to the Obamamaniacs.

I seriously doubt that Palin believed Africa to be a country and didn’t know it was a continent.

The absurdity of some of these statements means that these “aids” are looking to find new jobs in beltway land and they want everyone to know they’re “right thinking” individuals.

Palin will go back to being governor. She was far more interesting than the rest of that campaign.

I posted asking NativeTxn for a source, and as of yet, have not heard from him. I googled several variations on the Jindal Palin theme, even throwing in “bashes”, and found zip/zilch/nuttin’/nada.
