One of the aides tells CNN that campaign manager Rick Davis fired Scheunemann after determining that he had been in direct contact with journalists spreading "disinformation" about campaign aides, including Nicolle Wallace and other officials.

"He was positioning himself with Palin at the expense of John McCain's campaign message," said one of the aides.

I can’t stand Nicole Wallace and the fact she gave an interview to Wonkette, who turned around and totally trashed Trigg Palin over the weekend, makes me like her even less... why is a CBS hack working for a political campaign?

It should be against them personally, because for them skin color comes before what they believe in.

First thing we do is forget all the party has-beens, stop this old boy, next in line, GOP stuff and go with new blood. The new blood isn’t any of the people who ran in the primaries this year...not a one, they are Palin, Jindal and whoever else shines forth in the meantime. We have to actively recognize talent to rebuild the party... starting with cleaning up the RNC and RNCC

1)Trying to save McCain's reputation -- as if ALL of us didn't see what a bad campaign he was running

2) destroy her before 2012/2016 -- because they saw how people responded to her and they fear her

This reminds me of something else, Hank Williams song McCain/Palin tradition had the part in it about terrorists and McCain's "people" wanted that out... I read a few weeks ago he was really ticked Hank kept singing it at the rallies after the so-called "kill him" (which never happened) stuff started up... I guess he wanted Palin to make certain this part of the song was gone and she wouldn't do it.

“the Dems are so blinded by Zer0 that they are bound to run a good campaign in 2012”

Not so sure about that. I think that “change” thing is going to come back to haunt them. I can hear it now, “Obama promised you change. And now that’s all you have left.”

His symbol-driven and juvenile-message campaign was good to capture the America Idle center and the W.H., but not very good to keep it especially if you can’t deliver. Think “misery index” for Carter in 1976 and against Carter in 1980.

I was furious with him Monday, today he seems VERY concerned about the future of this country, said he has been inundated with calls and emails and people are terrified.

Moveon announced they raised $80 million for the “O” and they expect his obedience (BOR kept referring to it on his show tonight, I think that is partly what scared him today).

“But it is long past time for McCain the politician to stroll into the sunset.”

We need to keep that Senate seat from Napolitano.

O’Reilly’s enthusiasm for Obama during the past year or more, repeating over and over how honorable Obama is and how qualified he is to be president is partly to blame for this mess we now have.

You’re the smart one. I figured I couldn’t feel any worse tonight, so why not. I was wrong. However, I have since taken a bubble bath in my too large evil capitalist pig mansion and freeped for a while, so I feel much better now!

There have been articles about troubles within the McCain camp and people jumping ship like rats, weeks ago. This is CNN article is nothing new.

"Scheunemann was taking money from the Georgian government one year, and then advising McCain what to do about the Georgia-Russia conflict the next. Did he press McCain to say we are all Georgians now?

Yeah, this Randy Scheunemann? "And None Dare Call It Treason"

I said at the time that we should be screaming our heads off for McCain to get rid of Scheunemann, but nobody seemed to be phased by it.

I agree, which made me wonder why all of a sudden he got so concerned today after it’s all over.

My post above shows McCain at the Sturgis rally, where he had to go to find a crowd before Sarah. I've been unable to find McCain/Palin crowd shots that demonstrate some of the very large crowds (>20,000) that Palin especially regularly drew.

For Obama, there is always an MSM crane shot, with him in front of an adoring throng of Obamabots. For McCain/Palin, that shot was never shown.
