The majority of Americans WANT Socialism. They don't know it's called Socialism. The majority of Americans don't even know what Socialism is.
To most Americans, "free" health care, "free" housing, "free" food, are wonderful things. To most Americans, it is a relief to give away the burden of these responsibilities to a government that will take care of them. It is just plain easier.
In another time, this was called "slavery." While once thought of as distasteful, it appears that it has come back into fashion. 60,000,000 American voters crawled into the voting booths, and volunteered to become wards of the State - the new "master." The liberal's dream of a nation of serfs, ruled over by the political elite, is one giant leap forward.
Of course, these same Americans have utterly no understanding that giving away these responsibilities also means giving away liberty. It's just so bothersome to think of. Besides, the next season of American Idol starts soon. Isn't it just so much nicer to sit and watch the funny people on the TV? Besides, all the talk about liberty just makes them sleepy.
Obama's agenda is 100% unstoppable. The majority party has but to point at any defiant senator and say, "racist". That, combined with the investigation of the MSM into the "racist" senator will cause immediate compliance.
No generation that lost their liberty - or in our case, gave it away - lived to see it again.

I have no doubt that we'll be able to find doctors who will be glad to take some tax-free cash rather than having to beg an insurer to pay a negotiated amount on a claim.
“If the tax cuts go through, this woman or other employees might not even have a job because employment might be cut (the business files as an s-corp and income is above $250,000.)”
She should be the first to go. The only way these people may learn is if they see that actions have consequences.
I think we have to come to the reality the election is the culmination of the FDR socialist movement of the 30’s. Interestingly the only thing that “saved” the nation then was a huge World War, not the programs that he and his fellow travelors put in place. There was some ebb till 64, some more eb till 76, and this maybe the final leftward shift as each one has tacked farther to the left. I left out 92 as Clintune did not have a host of useful idiots in the congress for most of his tenure. Alas that is not true now.
“The election was bought and paid for with 650 million of foreign money that Bushs gutted DOJ ignored and Dem run depts let Acorn go unchecked .”
Krushchev said he would bury us - and he was buried.
Obama simply bought us - and we were bought.

In bad times, america used to turn to God. Now they turn to Government. We have trained our children to look to Washington, and they have learned the lesson.
We have worked hard to give our children a better life. Could it be that giving them a better life taught them they should look for people to give them things?
I know I have failed my children, in the desire to make things better for them, to keep them safe and happy, I have spoiled them and failed to teach them about honest labor and the value of a dollar.
I plan to spend the next 4 years correcting that mistake. But meanwhile, most of the country will be looking to Bill Gates to pay for their things.
Everybody loves “Robin Hood”. Nobody has thought about what happens when all the rich people have been robbed, and the poor actually have to generate their OWN money.
Wealth redistribution sounds wonderful, but it doesn’t actually work. Unfortunately, too many people don’t know that.
The message of the Democrats taking away your IRA and 401K, of taxing you more to spread the wealth to others, of raising your taxes to help people pay for houses they can’t afford — that should have scared people. But instead, it made them happy.
You have to educate America before we can fix America.
sadly true
They will have to, or else they won’t be able to compete with other companies who do.
“I see NOTHING wrong with vanity comments right now, or at anytime, for that matter. Everyone needs to express their opinion. I never did understand the aversion to vanity crap here anyway, and find it stupid-it stifles intelligent conversation more often than not.”
I don’t mind them either - if they aren’t too innane.
FR’s moderators should probably set up a separate forum for vanities, though...

Nor reckless.Stupid.I was born in soviet union and know first hand what is socialism.Sad day in US history. But people need some shock terapy to learn the lesson the hard way.Lets hope we can recover.
“I think Sarah can ADD to her character, maybe studying up of foreign policy and economics, and 4 years hence emerge as a very strong force in the Republican party. I’d like to see that. “
Yes. First thing she needs to do is go home, tend to business, and get herself re-elected next time ‘round.
And in the meantime, she needs to start hitting the books and assembling a small circle of advisors for 2012.
I’ll admit I was very cool to her when McCain picked her, and I still believe that - however good she is or [more correctly] will become - that 2008 was a bit too early for her to jump up on the national stage. But the lady is going to be a contender - no doubt about it!

That I’d have no objection to myself. But this is the ONLY forum/board/blog I’ve ever came to that even mentions ‘vanity posts’. Just find it strange.
Yet another example that there is NO minimum IQ
required to vote in America!
