Michael Barone: Pennsylvania STILL IN PLAY
National Review ^

Posted on 11/04/2008 6:03:56 PM PST by Chet 99

When Barone Calls It, I Believe It

Dang. Fox News calls Pennsylvania for Obama. But I notice someone in the Corner said that Barone was throwing cold water on the Pennsylvania calls.

It's not looking good, but let's watch the actual results come in...

UPDATE: CNN calls Pennsylvania for Obama.

I'm told Fox News has called Georgia for McCain.

Exactly. All of these calls are based on exit polls.

Its not a matter of bias, as much as belief that their polling is accurate... if it isn’t, they will have egg on their face, and I think the exit polling like all the other polling is not reflecting the ground game.

According to CNN, NH has 17% of precincts reporting:

Obama 75,071 votes 57%

McCain 56,196 votes 43%

They haven’t backed off the call. Where is this coming from?

I am not believing PA until I see the actual returns, this is BS how they do this. Fox is worried about the Fairness Doctrine and they are pandering to Obama. I hope it come in that THEY WERE WRONG.

Fox also said they were calling PA based on Philly turnout. I.e. there’s an assumption Philly = Dem.

I’m from Philly and I don’t think you can make that call. I’m guessing there will be substantial Philly votes for McCain...more than people are guessing now.

I warned folks that the possibility that the networks could call PA based purely on exit polling, only to have back off that call later in the night may happen folks.

As noted by another Freeper earlier today on another thread: from your keypad to God's inbox.

FNC shows the Socialist with only 163 electoral votes. By my count he needs 107 more.

Unfortunately the title is highly misleading - he initially said Fox was unable to call and wanted to wait for numbers, but has subsequently confirmed that PA is blue. This is an utter disaster.

I agree completely.

As I've said before, even if McCain wins, we conservatives have a lot of work cut out for us over the next 4 years. Let's not forget how McCain likes to play nice with the Dems. We will have to hound him and hound him to ensure good judges and no amnesty, etc.

Hell, we're going to have start using Alinsky techniques but to promote conservatism. We're going to have to give up our free time, get out and protest, even if we stand alone, get loud, organize massive boycotts and call-in complaints.

Calling PA on exit Polling alone is crazy.

You said it! I'm going down with this ship. I STILL SAY Mac takes PA.

There. If I look like an idiot, then I'm an idiot.

We must all calm down. DON’T GIVE UP!!!!
I’m continuing to pray until the polls close in the West. I’m thanking God for having mercy on us and giving us a pro-life president.

We drove by a couple of polling places just when the news on the radio called PA for Obama. I hope this isn’t supressing R turnout...
