UPDATE FROM OHIO (More good news)

So far:

Turnout at GOP precincts has been unbelievable.

In Darke Couty, which went 2:1 for Bush in 04, they are looking at 80% turnout and thousands of additional R voters.

In Allen County, heavy R turnout.

In Montgomery County (Kerry won by 2% in 04), the west side (D) precincts are coming in under 20% by mid-afternoon!!! Our R precincts are outpacing them 2:1.

Reports of other red counties are at tremendously high levels.

BASED ON THIS . . . .

wait for it

not only would I "call" Ohio now for McCain, but it's entirely likely he could end up being a sizeable statewide victory margin. I won't tell you yet what it could be, but it portends amazing things for the rest of the states.

Perhaps half of the “missing” are from early voting.

The rest are from overconfidence that Obama will win without bothering to vote.

I have the same sense of fear and excitement that I did the morning Sarah Palin was picked.

I remember crying, hoping John would do it.

This is much more important. I am beyond help at this point. Not sure if I should just down some booze and go to bed or stay up for the drama.

I can’t bear the thought of losing.

O.K. My girlfriend ran into issues with her registration and submitted a provisional ballot. She said she was voter 227 in a tiny district so thats pretty good. This is Van Wert co. Looks like turn out is fairly brisk.

Don’t forget to add in ACORN fraud. That is a key state.

After the polls close in Cleveland tonight. I won't be suprised if the poll workers run the votes through a second time to double the the rat vote. That the standard procedure for Philly polls.

One black lady that my wife works with resents Obama being compared to MLK, so she wouldn’t vote for him. She didn’t like McCain, either. She just told my wife today that she didn’t vote at all.

I was in Cheviot last week and the best yard sign I saw read, “ I’m bitterly clinging to my guns and voting McCain.”

I guess that's one house the rioters are going to avoid.

I feel exactly the same.

I live in a very conservative area, but between there and my business there are some "iffy" neighborhoods. So I am tying up all loose ends - paying bills etc.- in case things get out of hand and I have to avoid the area for a day or so.

However - we'll keep positive thoughts and pray that McCain/Palin triumphs tonight.

God bless them both!

News from the ground in Ohio. I was an poll observer today. The Obama campaign is putting tags on their observers that say “Voter Rights Staff - Questions? Ask me?” and they are in the polling area as dem poll observers. They are greeting voters as they come through the door, directing them to the correct tables, passing out hotline business cards, etc.

I had to file a witness report with some lawyers this afternoon. I got a call from our GOP headquarters warning me that Obama supporters with these “tags” are all over Summit county.

I’m not a Republican... I’m registered Independent, some of y’all may recognize me from epic battles on the Ron Paul threads... but today I held my nose and voted for McCain.

It’s not that I really wanted McCain to be president. It’s that I didn’t want Obama... and North Carolina might be close.

Well, this AM I was number 220 in my polling place of 800. When I came home tonight out of 800 registered about 500 had voted and the lot was full. Our polling station is broken into two areas. One is for our subdivision which has a lot of Rs in it. One is for the area surrounding our subdivision. Our subdivision he estimated had about 70% turnout without absentees. The surrounding area about 50% without absentees. Said lots of absentee ballots were received. The polling place is physically within the subdivision at our community building.
