“When this happens, a hurricane of outrage will be unleashed at the political analysis business, mostly the pollsters. People will demand to know how they could be so off.”

We know how they will explain it...we’re all racists.

Consider Obama toast, guys. He will join Dukakis, Dole, Gore, and Kerry in the ashbin of history.

How great would that be? I enjoyed this piece, and hope there is a lot of truth in it. My gut has told me this, but it is hard to assume the PUMA turnout and assume this massive GOTV by Obama does not happen.

Hi Bob! Long time no see!!

I still think McCain will win the election and do so by a larger margin than Bush did in 2004. When this happens, a hurricane of outrage will be unleashed at the political analysis business, mostly the pollsters. People will demand to know how they could be so off. In other words, the future of the political analysis business will be destroyed as their reputation will become destroyed in the upcoming days.

This would be my one fervent prayer, realized.

Agreed! And thank you so much for posting it! :)

Note to the pols: You guys don't need pollsters. You need anthropologists to tell you about the area outside the Beltway that is now terra incognita to you idiots.

Note to Gov. Palin and Sen. Fred Thompson: With you folks being the exception.

Given Obama’s utter vanity, how sweet it would be for him to have to suffer for his hybris.

Couldn’t read it all, as I am getting ready to go out to vote at the local CHurch, but this strikes me as as ASTONISHING and comprehensive piece of political analysis.
The ONLY place I would expect to see it would be the great FreeRepublic.com. One sure sign of why the Obamamaniacs will lose is the overweening overconfidence they have been defined by FROM THE BEGINNING, and most of all FROM OBAMA himself. All his surrogates and buttboys in interviews as recently as yesterday, were saying things like “I guarantee you he will win”, as if they knew something none of the rest of us did. That is called “whistling in the dark” and is classic evidence of classic insecurity. NO ONE wins with that lack of humility, even Messiahs like Obama who has been busy with a World Victory Tour for many months now. There is also a medical term for this: it’s called “premature ejaculation”.

Since the only two people running for President are performing actions entirely differently than the public polling, one can either say that the presidential candidates are just running around states randomly and are dumb, or it is the possibility that the public polling is not accurate.

Among the MANY very rational thought processes in this article. I especially liked the voting analysis at the end - like the PUMAs telling pollsters they are voting Obama to witness the first stroke on network news. Bwahahahahaha!

Great article and should be bumped to the top for the day as motivation to GOTV.

Thanks for posting, very interesting. As to his one point:

It will be fun to see what excuses they come up with.

He was talking about the polls, and I can tell you the excuse they'll use...racism.

Well written and inspiring.

Free Republic would be a great newspaper, but then the dems would prob run it out of business.

I find this is the place I really get the news.

Well worth the time to read it.

I sense that the undercurrent of anger on both sides is red hot. In some ways this election convinces me that we are in parallel to that period of American history between 1750 and 1775. The writings are similar, the public comments are similar and direction we take will be decided in ways we don’t know.

We do, indeed, live in interesting times.
