I've noticed that AOL has been hedging its bets the last couple of days. Until three days ago, AOL was serving up the daily "inevitable victory" story. Yesterday, AOL led with a story about how McCain could win. Today, there is a poll about the effect on media credibility of a McCain victory.

Nice little bit of chicken soup for one's soul this morning.

But there was just one little thing...

"The PUMAs have adopted the cougar or bobcat as their symbol."

Do you think the PUMAs maybe adopted, gee, I don't know.... maybe a freakin' PUMA as their symbol?!

“The point is that (Governor) Palin has become a Conservative Touchstone that, like a wave, has flowed through the party and is revealing who is and who is not a conservative. And these non-conservatives will not be well received anymore.”

BUMP to that! :)

Puma, cougar, mountain lion, panther, all the same species, differently named by region. So it is a matter of word flavoring.

Where can I find the Cliff Notes version? This thing is longer than a Baptist sermon.

People will demand to know how they could be so off.

Rather than ask how the pollsters and pundits were wrong, the loons will ask how the vote tally was wrong...

That's what drives me crazy about the navel gazers on Hume's nightly panel. Except for Charles Krauthammer, all the rest of them need a copy of The Red Bits for Dummies.

Note to FNC: Add Joe the Plumber when the doc's not on call.

I'm going out on a limb here and maybe giving the organization maybe a little too much credit here, but logically speaking, if you have started an organization called PUMA, and you wanted a symbol to represent your organization, you don't turn around and say, "Hey!, I got it! We're the PUMAs, right... oh, your gonna love this idea... So if we're the PUMAs, riiiiight..... and we need a symmmbol... Let's... use... a... COUGAR!

Sheesh, that's like saying the Washington Indians, or the Cleveland Redskins, the New York Titans or the Tennessee Giants, same species, different regions, right? 220... 221?, hey, whatever it takes...

Limbaugh likes to refer to “good old question 3D,” a question on the old Battleground Poll that asks Americans whether they are “very conservative” or “moderately conservative,” along with liberal etc. For years, the poll results have been within about 2 percentage points of 60% (40 for very conservative, 20 for moderately conservative. This question is asked the same way every year, and the sampling, as far as I know, is straightforward, with no leading phraseology.

That may be the longest thread article I’ve ever read at FR! ... And I do have hope that the ACORN effect will not cheat OBama into the presidency. Millions—literally!—of lives depend upon John McCain and Sarah Palin being a part of the next four years of American governance. It’s not just the possibly six million alive unborn who will be slaughtered, it is the millions of descendants who will never even be conceived because of the murderous democrat rites of abortion! And the fifth column media—enemy—refuses to address any of this.
