I lived in Wyoming for 21 years and their 3 EV’s are safe, bank on it. The article left out O’s own state along with Missouri, Utah, North Dakota, New Mexico, Colorado, Alabama and believe it or not; Joe’s home state of Maryland.

A president can only mandate the cost of energy through the monopolies by making energy scarce. Only the Hollywood elites, George Soros and Warren Buffett will have electricity.

"Not to worry, I believe that I can personally guarantee that Wyoming will indeed go for John Mccain. Now the rest of the country needs to follow our lead." The oil producing State of Texas will also deliver a McCain/Palin victory! 48 more states to go!

Nope. It's pie in the sky rubbish. Facts speak for themself. If he tried such the southeast USA would go dark. Here's information taken from the souths largest power producer and the nations likely second largest.
The eleven fossil plants generate about 60 percent of the electricity TVA produces for its customers.
Fossil meaning COAL FIRED steam plants. TVA only has three nuclear facilities. Two in Tennessee one in Alabama. Hydro-electric dams make up another 10% in good rainfall years which the Tennessee Valley is in a severe drought. Shut down TVA coal fired power generation plants and darkness follows even into northern states in the winter. Not even Obama can stop that. IOW it's feel good {for green whacko's} B.S. empty political promises.

I don’t know that Philadephia will run it, though I e-mailed the stations around there that I know might report on it. I have seen it in Pittsburgh papers though.

The level of ignorance .....out there in the popular culture has long reached super-scary levels. And it just gets better!
I think we should use more electricity <- actual answer by our man on the street when questioned about domestic energy policy. People just think the stuff comes out of the wall outlet all by itself.
Something like half of all electric power generated in the US is from coal. Just as vital, it is reasonably priced, easy to produce and doesnt need to be imported. The whole global warming, C02 nonsense foisted is just way too convenient in my estimation. ,,,,
You can say that again! China is number 1 for coal production and is heavily dependent on it for electricity production. They are currently experiencing troubles meeting their demand.
China Facing Electricity Shortages On Higher Coal Prices We are number 2 for coal production. Do we want to screw ourselves with an Obama mandate to kill the coal/electricity producing industry?

Liberals always scream for action without the means to accomplish the task. What are the alternatives to Coal Powered Plants? Solar? Limited capacity requiring a storage system {batteries or yet to be produced capacitors capable of large storage capacity} Batteries are the only workable storage system for solar. Must also have large amounts of clear days. Next is Wind Power. Inefficient and highly unpredictable. Add to that recently discovered serious medical issues for those unfortunate to live within ear shot. Hydro-electric? Highly inefficient and requires the loss of vast portions of land. Look at the TVA lakes and yet they as well as the Army Corp of Engineer dams in the TVA region produce 10% or less of required need.
That leaves Nuclear , Natural Gas, or Coal, as the three most practical means of electrical power generation for the masses. Nuclear is most efficient but requires eternal waste storage.Still can be dealt with. Units take days to bring on line. That makes either Coal or Gas Turbines as the quickest way to obtain the largest source of power on demand. Steam Powered Generators are the only large scale answer. The possible fuels being Coal, Nuclear, or Natural Gas. Anything else is pie in the sky LIE. Of the three Coal is the cheapest and most aviable fuel source.
Of course there is one other answer if Obama is really serious. I have developed a generator powered by a friction free flywheel and 5 HP electric motor. It produces enough electric power to run 100 homes and the power it generates also keeps the motor running for the flywheel as well. I am looking for a government buy out. :>}

This should be an issue not just to the 26 States that produce coal but also the other 22 that use coal from those states. Only Vermont and Rhode Island do not use coal for Electrical Power Generation.
Net Generation by State by Type of Producer by Energy Source
http://www.eia.doe.gov/cneaf/electricity/epa/epa_sprdshts.html
and coal is used to produce 50% of our electricity
according to the US dept of energy
http://www.energy.gov/energysources/coal.htm
Coal is one of the true measures of the energy strength of the United States. One quarter of the worlds coal reserves are found within the United States, and the energy content of the nations coal resources exceeds that of all the worlds known recoverable oil. Coal is also the workhorse of the nations electric power industry, supplying more than half the electricity consumed by Americans.
Coal-fired electric generating plants are the cornerstone of America’s central power system.
