A masked man waving an American flag and holding a handgun on a Santa Barbara freeway overpass has shut down Highway 101 for nearly two hours.
Police Sgt. Lorenzo Duarte says the man is on the La Cumbre Avenue overpass wearing a ski mask and brown fatigues. He's waving an American flag in one hand and a handgun in the other.
No shots have been fired.
The freeway has been shut down in both directions...The police special weapons team and a crisis negotiation team is on the scene.

This is California (my home state) we're talking about. Overreaction is a way of life there.
Poor guy. My husband and I are not going anywhere here in Santa Barbara. Back up all the way to down the street from our home and we live at least 3-4 exits away from where he is and way far away from the freeway. Glad he didn’t do this on election day. I hope they are able to take him in safely. Prayers for him. May he keep that gun quiet on all fronts toward others and toward himself.

The door won’t stop anything and street cops’ body armor offers limited protection. In most departments, the SWAT team are street officers with additional gear and training.
That said, it sounds like another suicide by cop.
When seconds count, the police are only minutes 2 hours away.
Live stream keeps showing some kind of smoke rising just to the right of the dude. Is there a factory near there?
If O is elected we may all look back at this incident and recall the first patriot who took to the streets to fight against his Marxist slave masters.
Or fondly recall when we could actually own a handgun, as we take our meds in the re-education camps.
Or yet again we are standing near a freshly dug trench awaiting to be executed with others who failed the re-education camps wishing we had taken to the streets in time.

They are not reporting that on Fox. Just that he is yelling about ‘politics’. Where did you get the info that he is yelling anti Obama comments? Can you link it please.

Local LA radio stations interviewed witnesses at the scene saying he was yelling anti Obama comments.
