The West Virginia Coal folks are coming out swinging!!!!

"His comments are unfortunate," Chris Hamilton said Sunday, "and really reflect a very uninformed voice and perspective to coal specifically and energy generally."

Hamilton noted other times Obama and vice presidential candidate Joe Biden have made seemingly anti-coal statements.

"In Ohio recently, when Joe Biden said 'not here' about building coal-fired power plants -- this is exactly what will happen," Hamilton said. "Financing won't be directed here. It will all go aboard for plants elsewhere in the world. The United Sates is importing more coal today from Indonesia, South Africa and Colombia than we ever have.

"If we're going to create a situation where coal-fired power plants are at that much of a disadvantage, there will be new ones built. But as Biden said, just not here."

Republican presidential candidate John McCain's state director said Obama's statements are troubling, especially for West Virginians.

"I think this clearly shows the attitude the Obama-Biden ticket has toward coal," Ben Beakes said Sunday. "Rhetoric is cheap, but behind closed doors what they tell their supporters - that's what we have to take as gospel.

When are people in America going to realize Obama uses the Socialist/Marxist playbook - say ANYTHING to get elected, do away with your enemies, and then do what you always planned.

LIES, LIES and More LIES.

Make sure the UMWA knows where Obama stands and let them know good luck finding a job after their company goes bankrupt.

Pennsylvania and Virginia are big coal producing states, too, so this stuff should be blasted in ads there now.

In a few years if Obama is elected, the US and Iraq will pass each other in electric power reliability with Iraq power on 24/7 while we have a series of brownouts, blackouts and rolling power outages.

Excellent! It is great to hear that coal industry officials are becoming aware of these comments and speaking out.

The national media seems intent on dismissing these comments as “out of context” (by which they mean: these comments reflect badly on Obama so they must be out of context) but I think negative local coverage like this will have the greatest impact on voters.

Hopefully Chris Hamilton is calling his fellow executives in Ohio, Virginia, and Pennsylvania so they can issue similiar statements.

At least one state coal industry leader said he was shocked by comments Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama made earlier this year concerning his plan to aggressively charge polluters for carbon and greenhouse gas emissions.

This stuff is only coming out now. Obama is the most extreme politician ever to win the nomination of either major party in my lifetime, and most Americans are oblivious to this. The mainstream news organizations have failed utterly to vet this guy, to dig into his views, or to make Americans aware of what those views are and what they mean.

Meanwhile, we have adults who plan to vote claiming that Obama will eliminate the need to pay mortgages or gas bills. Combine 40 years of liberal influence on public education with a professional journalism industry which has decided to become the propaganda arm of the Democratic Party, and we have an uninformed, incredibly gullible segment of voters with no understanding of basic economic principles or foreign policy reality willing to put this guy Obama into office. Absolutely frightening and depressing.

Yes, just like Senator Obama did with his "clinging" gunowner comments: the truth is delivered behind closed doors to the left-wingers who are in accord with his true intentions, and his lies are for the public.

Don't be shocked by 0 comments, be shocked and terrified that "our media" has allowed this guy to get near the White House.

When Judgment Day comes, the members of Media are going to get Mussolinied.

"I think this clearly shows the attitude the Obama-Biden ticket has toward coal,"

Actually, it shows that an Obama administration will use economic policies to control behavior, a very insidious tactic.
