Hidden Audio: Obama Tells SF Chronicle He Will Bankrupt Coal Industry
News Busters ^ | November 2, 2008 | By P.J. Gladnick

So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it's just that it will bankrupt them because they're going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted.

That will also generate billions of dollars that we can invest in solar, wind, biodiesel and other alternative energy approaches.

The only thing I've said with respect to coal, I haven't been some coal booster. What I have said is that for us to take coal off the table as a (sic) ideological matter as opposed to saying if technology allows us to use coal in a clean way, we should pursue it.

So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can.

It's just that it will bankrupt them.

Nice, but is this going to get out on the campaign trail, I mean we know the McCain campaign reads Drudge. We need a commercial right now with this audio and Biden’s rope line confession.

I think these last minute audio revelations are good, I wonder what is more optimal, having them released months ago or now, I guess the good thing is Obama doesn’t have a chance to explain himself.

Savage highlighted Obama as a lawyer, perfect term, even when he lies he does it in such a way that is hard to pin down. For example his use of the word “ideological” a sneaky way to admit why he lied about coal.

But play it to a crowd and it would go right past them, not because they weren’t smart, just because his language sounds professional and professorial and difficult to tag.

I said this guy would be like Jimmy Carter. Jimmy Carter was a disaster as a President but the man was not a liar, he had a good heart. Obama is a narcissistic, duplicitous, used car salesman.

How many months or years after 0bama is sworn in will they no longer get any traction from blaming Bush, I wonder. If energy prices are soaring a year or two from now because we are not drilling and not building more nuclear plants I wonder if a lot of the dolts who voted for 0bama will believe it when he says this is part of the mess he inherited from Bush!

You can expect the media to cover for him to their last dying breath. It will never be Obama's fault. He will never have to take responsibility for anything. We can also expect that they will make reinstalling the “fairness act” a priority. The only way to save this country may be to force the MSM into bankruptcy. We may have to take down GE by force...

Why do you think it would not affect Wyoming? We have huge coal fired generating plants and ship a tremendous amount of coal out of the state. On the other hand Wyoming has it all, we have LOTS of wind, and wind farms are increasing all of the time, especially in the southern part of he state, we have oil and gas and we have uranium.

...and Ohio,North Dakota, Texas, Illinois, Indiana, Arizona, and more. The Western U.S. has more coal than the Eastern and Interior combined.

URGENT: McCain press office.....

phone: 703-650-5550

People in this office would be key to sending out press releases, getting an urgent ad out etc.

This needs out immediately.

There should be people there today; they have been putting out press releases. 703-650-5550...again.

Other contacts:

MCCAIN CAMPAIGN URGENT:

phone: (703) 418-2008
info@johnmccain.com

pennsylvania@johnmccain.com

PA campaign numbers:
Office number is 614-441-8097
Office fax is 614-222-2530

Other faxes:

(703)752 2515 : (McCain/Palin HQ)
NOTE: This was the number during the primaries - it may not be the same now.
(202)228 2862 : (McCain’s office in the Senate)

Apparently Sarah has brought this up, but it needs to be in an ad they are producing TODAY.

But you can bet the industry folks know their going to have a hell of a lot easier time lobbying McCain to make the restrictions as easy as possible compared to zero. The Obama campaign won’t respond anyway unless they see it show up in their polling tracks, which will take until tomorrow. It too late then.

There is a reason that this dropped when it did. Obama has to come out and disavow himself to defend it. People already don’t trust him.

A significant problem here is that Obama is talking about his greenhouse gas policy—a policy that is indistinguishably different than McCain’s. This will be pointed out right away—and is probably the reason this hasn’t been used before. This will be like Acorn and Kalahdi—McCain on the wrong side. The repubs shouldn’t have given their nomination to a dem. Too late now though.

WARNING- anti-McCain alert!
