So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it's just that it will bankrupt them because they're going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted.
That will also generate billions of dollars that we can invest in solar, wind, biodiesel and other alternative energy approaches.
The only thing I've said with respect to coal, I haven't been some coal booster. What I have said is that for us to take coal off the table as a (sic) ideological matter as opposed to saying if technology allows us to use coal in a clean way, we should pursue it.
So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can.
It's just that it will bankrupt them.

Obama Tells SF Chronicle He Will Bankrupt Coal Industry
I am not an expert on coal, does this effect Ohio? Yes this has to get out but the key is on the stump, McCain has to bring it up, has McCain brought up the selfish quote today???
Obama’s real energy policy....and it is the truth.
If you know people in north east New Mexico get this out to them. It really could swing enough votes to make the difference in that state. Heck, coal and electricity are just about the only real industries of any size on the Navajo Reservation.
Also the key word Obama used was “ideological”, he admits that he only supported coal because he knew it could be used as a wedge political issue. This is the secret to Obama, he knows what is bad politically and he lies about his positions. So we get the truth here and he even tells the journalist the reason why he has been lying.
Hence why Joe Biden said a few months ago that the U.S. was NOT going to build any more coal plants in the future.
It would hurt New Mexico. Arizona could be another place to push this. I am assuming Wyoming and Utah are safe. Pennsylvania has a lot of coal mines.
Here’s a good place to list where this would play well:

Less than 48 hours!!! One final push to save the U.S.A.!
The challenge:
Between NOW and election day, convince at least two Obama/Undecided voters to vote for McCain. (family, neighbors, friends, people waiting in the check-out line) Further, convince these two people (or two others) to take up the same challenge. (Like a chain letter)
So you have converted people in the past? Good, but we need more!
Many Obama supporters are mindlessly supporting him, with no real reason, this means it is VERY easy to get them to switch over. Even if you fail, other Obama/undecideds may be in the room and hear valid arguments and question their faith in the One.
Don’t kick yourself a week from now saying “I could’ve done more....”
Do your part...your country depends on it!

A significant problem here is that Obama is talking about his greenhouse gas policy—a policy that is indistinguishably different than McCain’s. This will be pointed out right away—and is probably the reason this hasn’t been used before. This will be like Acorn and Kalahdi—McCain on the wrong side. The repubs shouldn’t have given their nomination to a dem. Too late now though.
I'm Obama and I am a SOCIALIST, but I got to fool you FIRST!!
California also gets a large proportion of its electrical power from coal-fired plants outside the state. Of course I doubt that the California voters know or care about this - they probably think the lights come on by magic when they flip the switch.
Hell yes it affects Ohio. BIG coal power state.
Ok Biden, like we have the authority to tell them how to build their plants.
The Chinese would tell us to F Off!!
Please let this get out. Hopefully, it’s not too late what with so many voting early.
Map of coal producing states. Obama just lost.
