Link at Drudge shows Democratic Senate candidate Kay Hagan, left, greeting voters as they stand in line at an early voting place in Charlotte, N.C., Friday, Oct. 31, 2008.
The last thing I want to see when I go vote is a candidate.
Isn't it illegal to do campaigning within a certain distance of a polling station.
The one good thing, the folks in line are looking down. They are uncomfortable with the candidate working the voting line. That speaks well of good old American values, don't encourage a cheater.
I wish I could post the photo. It shows folks in line with arms folded as she walks by. One gal seems to be scowling at her.

It certainly is.
However. They placed signs that said “No Campaigning Beyond This Point” and the line stretched well past it. So technically, she may not have been in the wrong.
At the early voting site I used the candidates and representatives were well to the rear of the line.
TNX - I was trying to find the photo on a non-Yahoo/AP source. She certainly seems to be in unwanted territory.
If she were within the red line, the officials in the polling place would have removed her. When I was working the polls here two weeks ago, we were told by several voters that campaigning at the poll is not allowed “where I come from,” but it is here, unless there are legitimate complaints of poor behavior.
More importantly, the fact that she’s hanging at the poll in Charlotte suggests that her “massive lead” over Mrs. Dole is fictitious. Charlotte is going Republican for Governor, and the Dems there might just vote for Dole (the familiar name) as well.
I ran a half marathon in Charlotte this past weekend. Ran through many nice neighborhoods on the southeastern side of town. Saw tons of signs for McCrory (governor’s race). Very few signs for the presidential candidates. I did notice that there were more signs for Hagan than Dole. I don’t think the anti-God thing is working for Dole. I will not be surprised if she loses Tuesday. So sad that my state is not solidly red any longer. Too many damn Yankees moving down here messing up our demographics.
Too true! My husband and I went out to dinner in that part of town last night, and from the sound of the voices, you'd have thought you were in New Jersey. It's not like Mrs. Dole has been a very good Senator, but Hagan is a typical Raleigh crook; anyone who thinks she'll help the State is delusional.
What do you mean Senator Dole has not been a good senator? She voted against amnesty for illegal immigrants AND voted against the bail out. What are you unhappy with?
Yes, those are recent good points.
I think it is 50 ft. from the entrance and trust me, they have it clearly marked. I voted Thursday and there were several local candidates at the polling station (it was lunchtime).
Another interesting observation from my time spent standing in line was that there were several people in front of me who spent time talking to each of the candidates and asked questions such as, “Are you a good man?” The questioner was a naturalized citizen (he had an accent and the candidate asked where he was from). Of course, each and every candidate was an outstanding man in their own opinions and he told them, “Well, OK I’m going to vote for you then.” Had absolutely nothing to do with any type of policy or whatever. I’m just hoping the guy was passing time and not serious.
They don’t look very excited to see the Rat beotch in the pic, LOL.
"I know that God guy. He is a friend of mine. I was a Sunday School teacher ... "

It certainly is.”
I think its something like a 150 feet in NC. Its pretty close. I had a lot of no-name local candidates out campaigning when I early voted the other day.
I guess helping the state of NC over a cliff doesn't count!
I don’t know if it’s 150 feet, but from what I’ve seen both yesterday and in the past they usually have a sign saying “No Campaigning Beyond This Point.” It’s usually a lot closer than 150 feet.
If you were a plumber, I’d FReepmail you about my toilets.
How long did you have to wait to vote yesterday?
Just a little over four hours. I had to get it done so that I can spend all Tuesday night biting my nails on FR.
