My friends, it's John McCain, live from New York, just three days before the election. Aides to the Republican presidential candidate said Friday that McCain will make a detour from battleground states to appear on "Saturday Night Live," the late-night show that has been a must-watch for many during the political season.

Hosting the show this Saturday is actor Ben Affleck, a supporter of Democratic candidate Barack Obama. The musical guest is singer David Cook.

I guess Sarah thought there would be a little bit of pride that a team from the state where she was speaking were the World Champions. In Alaska, the distance between Erie and Phillie is practically normal commuting distance.

Obama’s fake accent is the slurred one. His normal speaking voice is pure ‘announcer’ American. Accents are formed in childhood, among school friends.

Obama did not attend a stateside school until college.

To see such dedication and determination in her at this rally, and then to switch over and watch this caricature of her on SNL with John McCain standing by was just too much. It felt insulting.

#####

Even Tina Fey knows that her ‘character’ of Sarah Palin is a far cry from the real deal. Since people have seen the charisma and beauty and good humor of the real Sarah, including her appearance on SNL, Tina knows that she has to play a more sympathetic character - for the sake of her own ratings.

I thought the skit with McCain was funny and not over the line.

Frightening but didn’t we read something recently about Nielsen fudging their numbers? Who knows what’s real but with 51% of the country voting dem, it shouldn’t surprise.

It's been so long since I've watched this show that I don't even recognize the cast. Who are these people?

Awww....I didn't know there was going to be a live thread! :-(

I had the same reaction- Who are these people? A little while later I saw part of "The View" sketch and it just wasn't funny. They made Elizabeth Hasslebeck out to be a neurotic psycho. But I did think it was funny that they had a man with 5 o'clock shadow playing Joy Behar.

Wonder what Mrs. Affleck thinks about 0bama’s audio stating he wants to destroy the coal industry, since she’s from WV.

You have been so helpful!!!! I went back thru this thread and did a cut and paste to put together for him. At this point, I don’t know which way he will vote, and he likely won’t tell us if he switches back to McCain in the privacy of the book (which is my prayer). Thank you so much.

Be sure and add in the latest info that Axelrod had connections to the communist party and the American Communist Party has stated they expect to have a role in the Obama administration and have him listen to the youtube today where Obama says he will bankrupt the coal industry....

Isn’t that a crazy schedule... and people say he is too old to be POTUS; if he can keep this campaign schedule, he will do just fine.

The Romney supporters I know, I being one of them, LOVE Sarah Palin. In fact, redgirlinabluestate as early as April 2007 stated on this forum she wanted to see a Romney/Palin ticket. Frankly, I wish Sarah Palin were at the top of the Republican ticket. Respectfully, AC, where is the evidence for your comment?

Well, for starters I've heard from people who are in a position to know for a while now this is the case, then after the wardrobe fiasco Spectator Blog came out with it -- that article is discussed here:

http://209.85.173.104/search?q=cache:y1rmKxk7nC8J:bornatthecrestoftheempire.blogspot.com/2008/10/palin-v-mccain-or-is-it-romney-v-palin.html+Spectator+Blog+Romney+palin&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=1&gl=us

Then you look at the so-called conservatives who have been raking Sarah over the coals: Noonan, Parker, Frum, Brooks, etc... ALL were huge Romney supporters and it seems they have not gotten over him losing the nomination and then not being chosen for Veep...

It is not the Romney supporters that are causing problems. Most are like supporters from the other campaigns.

It is the paid staff from the Romney campaign along with pundits that were loyal to him that still have their noses out of joint and continue to go after Sarah and McCain. Those paid staffers are also where the leaks are coming from out of McCain which was easy to determine. When it was the Rudy/Thompson/Huckabee staffs that went to the McCain campaign, no leaks.

After the convention the Romney staff people that went to McCain came out of Jeb and GW’s campaigns went to help out with Sarah which was a disaster so Davis and Schmidt stepped in and leaks have pretty much stopped except the ones to Politico from staffers no longer in the inner circle.

All you need to do is look at the pundits who have gone after Sarah Palin so much from the right and your realize that they were pushing Romney for VP. Not even saying Romney is behind it but his staffers certainly are and doesn’t say too much for them and ethics.
