Brought home my new AR-15 yesterday. For those who don't know what that is, the AR-15 is the civilian model of the M-16 rifle. It is what one would call an assault gun. I am in my fifties, a hunter who has always had hunting rifles and shotguns. A man who has always got a sense of pride of ownership for his guns. Cherishing the thought of passing my collection on to my children.
This is different, there is no joy. In fact, I felt sadness as I drove home with my new possession. You see, I purchased this weapon as a safety precaution. Not from home invasion by criminals, not from looters, but from a possible civil war that I fear may be close to being unavoidable.
Our nation is on the precipice of falling into the darkness of socialism, not the friendly European kind, but the Nazi like type Germany experienced in the thirties. The fascist socialism that has been so cruel in history. The kind that takes from all but their favored. The kind that does not tolerate opposition and indeed crushes it. The kind that we all know inside is driven by evil rather than good.
So, bringing this gun home was a sad day, a day I would rather not remember. And, after familiarizing myself with this new weapon and becoming proficient in it's use I intend on putting it away and hope to forget about it.
But, should the day come when I need to remember, I will be prepared.

Dusted off my SKS have 2000 rnds. 7.62 x 39 with two 30 rnd. clips. Have a nice day
Have two 30 rnd. clips for my SKS that are totally detachable and i also saved my original swing clip.

Depending on the sparking issues, the US military could go either way, but probably would splinter like the last time.

AR-15 = Overpriced poodle shooters.
30-06 or 7.62x39 - ammo weighs more but you only need 1/3 as much if you can aim properly.
Plus you can buy 2, 3 or 4 rifles for the price of one AR-15.
One Garand, SKS or AK-47 and a 12 ga. pump will get the job done.
I don’t know about the Japanese opinion, but I know the Soviets had no intention of trying to occupy the US for that very reason.
IF it gets up close and personal, I’ll rely on my old model 500 mossberg 12, and my son just bought a mossberg model 88 with the pistol grip. We cant get them long distance shots, but we can make a helluva mess outa anything up close. #1 buck pokes somes terrible holes.

It probably won’t happen. If it did the liberal side would resort to cannibalism within a month and so they must continue to live like parasites on the responsible and productive people.
I’ve got a lower on layaway currently. The absolute earliest I could conceivably get parts together to build mine is the Thursday after the election.

A sage, somber, responsible response. I too take no joy in “black guns”. I admire them for their quality machining and reliability to do their job in the hands of one who will do his...that is all.

Yes, but you wouldn’t want that. In fully auto you lose accuracy after the first couple of rounds come out. It is good for laying down suppressing fire but not good for making accurate shots. Best way to use a semi automatic weapon is to fire repeated rounds, keeping your sights on the target. You can maintain fire for a lot longer and your target is unable to maneuver. Vietnam made this abundantly clear when troops would get ambushed and everyone would unload a full magazine on fully automatic. The ensuing moments when everyone was replacing magazines with thick frightened fingers was the pause the enemy would use to deliver heavy fire. Newer models of the M-16 or M-4 had a 3 round max setting as well as single and full auto settings.
