John McCain's mother stopped by the Richmond Victory Center on Parham Rd. last night about 7:45. Background: Her appearance had not been announced in the newspaper, which had had a list of all election rallies in the coming days. It had not been announced on the McCain or Virginia McCain website. It had been briefly mentioned on an AM radio station, and the campaign workers knew about it.
By the time Mrs. McCain arrived, nearly 200 people had crammed into the office. They cheered very loudly for at least 2 minutes. I was standing 4 feet away from her and saw the pleased and surprised look on her face. She made a short, VERY encouraging speech and thanked everyone for being there. She said, "We're going to win. The tide is turning." I should also note that more than 1/3 of the people were under 25. Some were teen girls wearing Palin pink t-shirts. I saw people of all ethnic groups and minorities.
After the speech, Mrs. McCain was taken to another office for a photo-op with anyone who wished to do so. About 100 people stood in line to have their photo taken with her. As I left, I passed an African-American man with his young daughters in line.
People continued to discuss the election in the parking lot. These are people who have been blogging for months and are "coming out of the woodwork" to help in the final days. They are very concerned about the future of the country in Obama's hands, supported by the MSM, and a fully Democrat Congress.
Regardless of what the MSM and even Fox pundits opine, if these people are representative of the moderately conservative base, they are NOT worried about their wallets. They are worried about their COUNTRY.

Anyone ever spotted Obama’s family members at any of his rallies — not counting Michelle and their children?

If Obama isn't worried about McCain, why is he finishing up his campaign in Virginia? If Virginia is +6 points for Obama REALLY, why is Obama making so many stops here?
This election is not over, and Virginia just may remain in the Red column.

They had to put a muzzle on Mrs. Obama. And the aunt and uncles are busy fighting eviction from their slum apartments in Boston. Barack Obama does not “take care of his own.”

Hey, maybe Obama will drag Granny out of her apartment for a competing photo op. For some reason the movie “psycho” comes to mind.

Pretty hard to get anywhere near O, particularly if you’re a relative living in a hut or a Boston slum.
Like bubba before him, O keeps his relatives far far from public view.
My guess is that the msm has been warned against any questions for grannie dearest.

Heard early this morning that O is heading back to Iowa.
His campaign is crashing and he’s rushing hither thither and yon.
Let’s pray it’s to no avail and he loses by a landslide

"Anyone ever spotted Obamas family members at any of his rallies not counting Michelle and their children?"Didn't we see his granny's feet sticking out from under his tour bus?
Couldn't resist

I keep wondering about that too. If Obama’s as far ahead as some of the polls say, why is he campaigning so hard?

I have been blogging for months on various sites. It seems to me that the number of posts (here, gretawire, altasshrugs2000, michelle malkin, to name a few) are growing and the "silent majority" like the sleeping giant in WWII has been aroused to take action. The last 4 days are going to show momentum that I hope is shock and awe for the people trying to steal this election.
Obama stole the nomination through the caucuses, and his camp is trying to steal the election.

I don't think candidates ever take the election for granted, but he seems to be working awfully hard in just a few states, such as VA. That's what shows that his internal polling reveals that this is still a horse race.
Plus, if the polls are so accurate, why does the O campaign need to resort to registering mentally challenged people and filling in their absentee ballots for Obama. (This is reported from 2 different families in two different states.)

.<sarc>Yeah, but he said he shared his toys when he was a kid.</sarc>
To: TimPatriot
Yeah, I heard that, too. Once again, he couldn’t tell the truth. He took his neighbor’s kids’ toys and gave them to others. ;)

Heard early this morning that O is heading back to Iowa.I thought he had already locked up Iowa's big labor bloc, as well as our academic onanism bloc, the perpetual class-warfare bloc, the urban Chicago/Rockford felon relocation bloc, and the ethanol-makes-me-overlook-his-communism bloc...

Recommend to all on this thread the "Obamaween" video on youtube.com
It should be required watching for all trick-or-treaters of voting age or their parents.

my son met her when she stopped by the Northern Virginia campaign headquarters where he has been volunteering. She was very gracious, and took the time to have a very nice personal discussion with him. My son had the opportunity to go to the Beijing Olympics this past summer, and Mrs. McCain talked about her experience going to the Olympics when she was 16!

It is odd, not one friend from college, not one distant relative at his rally or on TV saying how proud they are of Obama. Cousins I have never met would be at my rallies and on the teevee saying I am related, or friends from long ago saying I knew him when etc...I know about the hut/slum relatives but no one back in Kansas has come forward. Odd.
