Charlotte, NC (WBTV)- "They're worried about it...worried about their second amendment rights." Larry Hyatt of Hyatts Gun Shop told WBTV's Rob Tufano
Usually this time of the year Larry Hyatt's gun sales pretty much consist of hunting weapons but the last few months most of his customers have been grabbing up pistols and military type weapons.
"They're buying self defense guns and military type guns because they feel like they'll be the first one's to have anti gun legislation passed on them."
He wouldn't call his customers panicked just concerned that if Senator Obama wins the White House and Democrats continue to control the House and Senate they're second amendment rights may be scaled back why this cause for concern?
"They NRA has put out a lot of info"
They have also hit the air with these blistering commercials that claim Obama supports banning shotguns and rifles used by hunters.
Nonsense according to the Seanators website which says the Obama respects the second amendment will protect the rights of hunters and other law abiding Americans to purchase own and use guns.
The Senator does support reinstating the ban on assault weapons and closing what he calls a loophole that lets people buy pistols at gunshows without thorough background checks but most a lot of Hyatt's customers don't buy what they call the rhetoric a lot of them convinced an Obama Presidency just may be the start of that slippery slope to abolishing the second amendment.
Realistically, probably at least year or so from now. Hussein wouldn't take office until 1.20.09, and I doubt any gun control would be on the agenda during the first 100 days, which would put any gun control legislation into the fall session. Having said that, I'm sure they wouldn't want to do any gun control during a congressional election year, so it would most certainly be late next year if they are going to do it.
Their idea of “right” is confiscation.
Decide what you’re going to do if that comes to pass.
I am amazed that anyone in the media could possibly get that single-sentence paragraph across the desk of any editor.
That has to be most embarrassingly illiterate sentence that I have seen from a "news organization", not to mention it is strikingly tendentious.
“...I doubt any gun control would be on the agenda during the first 100 days...”
If they have a fillibuster-proof majority and a willing President, we’ll find out real quick what the “tyranny of the majority” really is.
“if they are going to do it.”
IF? IF?
Oh they’d do it, except Obastard is gunna loose.
But we should stock up anyway.
"MS-13 will follow the Hispanic community wherever it goes," he says. "The person you hire that's illegal doesn't look like a gang member to you. So you hire him. But then he brings along his cousin, his in-laws and then his children. And those people may have gang backgrounds. Plus, Charlotte is very unusual right now because you guys are growing. If there's construction in Charlotte, that's where they're going."
Only in America!
LOL!
Homes get robbed often too.
There could be trouble starting next week.
Bump!
I wouldn't wait too long if I were you. Prices are already starting to go up. My favorite gun dealer told me that at the gun show last weekend he completely sold out of all pistols for sale under $500. I decided not to wait and purchased another KAHR PM9 and another Bushmater AR. Was looking at the Rock River AR this time but several dealers told me I would have to order one and it was 8 to 10 weeks. I didn't want anything fancey, just a basic M4 type.
Ammo is also getting hard to find and damn expensive.
A couple weeks ago a picked up a Remington UMC Mega Pack (250 rounds) at Gander mountain for $79.
Both of those are brass cased, seem to shoot well through my 1911.
If you shop around you can do a little better that $18. Not much though! Makes me wish I had got more last year. Good luck.

Shop said they can hardly keep up with demand the last month or so. In one three day stretch last week they sold almost 700 guns!
I hear that they shoot well.
Hmmm.... I may have to go AR shopping this weekend. I’ve got a good excuse now, “Honey, I need to get it while I still can”.
Yep...
“nonsense”, according to the Senators’ website???
Ok, I’m convinced...
So what is everyone upset about again???
/sarc
Saw that too...
President Obama...
“Nonsense”, according to my website...
All of you have to join the NRA and send some money to them to stop this nonsense. It’s better to send the money to the NRA instead of bragging how many guns and ammunition you have stored up.
Fight them at the ballot box instead of wishing for the ammo box.
