Let’s hope Sheehan and Pelosi split the socialist vote and Walsh could win with as little as 34%.

Problem is, Republican candidates in that district usually get about 15% of the vote. San Francisco races are usually between a Democrat and a Communist.

Why would she be speaker? The Majority Party selects their Speaker.

Wow, never thought I’d agree with Roseanne, Martin Sheen and Sean Penn; nor did I think I’d ever back Cindy Sheehan, but I’m joining the circus on this one! Go Cindy!!

“I demand that the candidates debate...wouldn’t that be a hoot?”

Like hearing a hearty give-and-take between long-term guests at the Shady Valley Home for the Haywire, moderated by Nurse Ratched.

I will laugh myself silly if this brain-dead hunk of protoplasm wins. The look in Nazi Pelosi’s face will be priceless.

"Martin Sheen is a tireless peace and political activist who has advocated on behalf of progressive causes and candidates for decades"

I think they meant to say tireSOME.

Are there any signs that Shaheen is a viable candidate?

I have no idea. I doubt it, though.

Here's a picture of a light bulb being powered by the full combined mental output from Sheen and Barr:

I cannot conjure up any circumstances which will enable CS to become Speaker of the House. One must be a seasoned pol and be elected by one’s peers. There has never been, to the best of my knowledge, a rookie CongressCritter elected Speaker.

If Pelosi is ousted, and I most sincerely hope she is, some other LIEBERAL/SOCIALIST/MARXIST (IOW, DEMOCRAT) CongressCritter will be elected Speaker.

Unless, of course, the Republicans take the House back!

Aren’t there already too many assholes in Congress?

Way too many. But if for some unfathomable reason Cindy upsets Pelosi, we're only trading one asshole for another and removing Pelosi from the speakership.

Cindy will be lucky if she gets a broom closet for an office. As for committee memberships: HA!

I will say this about Martin Sheen...he has done an impassioned ad against the "death by drugging" ( death with "dignity")proposition in Washington State....he has done tv spots as well as radio.....

I don't mind people that follow their ideals, whether I agree with them or not....I just hate superficial limousine liberals......like hussein and biden.....who really could care less about people

Too bad he won’t even get 15%.

It's not a he but a she,and there is a shot she might sneak in for a win. Probably a one term only deal.

“It’s not a he but a she”

My bad.

But I’m sorry this talk is ridiculous the chances of her winning rounded to the nearest tenth of a % point are zero. This is one of the least Republican seats in the country. If some glorious day the rats are whittled down to 25 seats this will be one of them. In last 3 races the GOP has gotten 10-12% against Pelosi. That’s NOT enough to win a three way split and Walsh is not gone even sniff a gain up to the mid-30s. and even that scenario assumes Sheehan will get more than a few % points herself. I’ve not seen any polling but I seriously doubt she’ll even match the pathetic GOP output in the district. You want Pelosi not to be Speaker? Defeat her minions that occupy GOP seats.

True, getting 34% of the vote in ultra-leftist San Fran is a nearly impossible task, as a "typical" Republican candidate in this district gets around 12% of the vote. Arnold got 27.9% in the 8th CD in 2006, but for a real Republican candidate, the best we can probably muster is 16%. :-(

This district is pretty nutty so I'm fairly certain Sheehan will come in 2nd and get a big chuck of loony leftists that regularly vote for Pelosi. Sheehan has instant name recongition and some pretty high profile endorsements (including the San Francisco Green Party, which nearly won San Fran Mayor a couple years back), plus she has committed moonbat volunteers stumping hard for her. The main problem is she's unfunded (the fact she's completely insane, is not a resident of the 8th, and wholly unqualified for the job will not hurt her in this district)

If I had to guess today, I'd say Pelosi gets 48% of the vote and Sheehan gets 34%, with Republican Dana Walsh coming in third with around 13% (the remaining 5-6% going to the other two candidates on the ballot)

On the plus side, four out of five candidates on the ballot are running on ending the WOT and troops home now (impeach Bush for war crimes, etc.), which includes the Libertarian candidate. We need to get the 80% of the district that is moonbats to divide their support over those four candidates, while anyone who remotely leans conservative or is independant votes for Dana Walsh. And yes, conservatives should donate to Sheehan so she'll inflict pain on Nancy.
