Living in NH a state which is leaning Obama (according to polls) my colleagues and I have started a challenge, you can do it in your state as well. The challenge: Between now and election day, convince at least two Obama/Undecided voters to vote for McCain. Further, convince these two people (or two others) to take up the same challenge. (Like a chain letter)
Strategy: Find their reasons for voting Obama and nail them with facts about Obama. I suggest using some of the articles linked here as a start or columns by Thomas Sowell, NRO, etc.
Every vote will count, do your part to beat the Socialist.
Anyone care to take up this challenge?
McCain/Palin 2008
I did my part. But I didn’t hit on any of the heavy topics. I just casually mentioned “what do you think about illegal immigrants getting drivers licenses?” They both said emphatically “No”. So, I casually said that Obama thinks they should be entitled to licenses. “What do you think about making English the national language?” “Of course” they said. This is America and we should speak English. Well, Obama doesn’t think so, I countered. He is all for diversity. Anyway, after a pretty short discussion, it was obvious they had no idea what Obama stood for on any issues, and I am hoping I converted them to a McCain supporter.

I live in a town full of Democrats, but I’ve seen a ton of McCain signs and only a couple for Obama. I’m hoping that’s a good sign.
Good luck getting an answer to that question.
I made copies of several articles on how the Dems would go after 401K and put them on the faculty dining tables.
Trying like hell to get my aunt and uncle in Pennsylvania to convert. My cousin will be voting for the first time, and basically told me to (expletive) off.
I’d have liked to have converted my brother, but he’s a tree-hugging, global-warming, overpopulation democrat through and through. He went off to college in the fall of 1969 and never really came back. I can’t really say much - we were quite close to fisticuffs in 2000 when Gore tried to steal the election, but we generally avoid the topic of politics now.
If they are college kids, let them know Obama wants a draft and wants women in that draft.
AMEN and AMEN
Plus today: my uninformed hairdresser told me she is not voting for any incumbent. (Okla), I ask why, and why is she voting against our great Sen Inhofe? No other reason except he has been in office too long and it's time for him to go.
I told her "Well you have been a hairdresser for over 30 years, you have been here too long, get the Hell out of the business, now."
You should have seen the stunned look on her face, then she said she would think on this. Sometimes you just got to hit them over the head with a Brick.
We are still friends, ok. No damage done. I just told her I hate uninformed voters.
Just getting them to doubt Obama is enought, I think.
I’ve been trying, but I’m getting disgusted with their blind allegiance to socialism ‘er the Democratic Party. Abortions? Tax payers should pay for them. Drugs? The government should provide drugs through doctors so that some poor kid won’t get locked up for dealing. Rights? Their “rights” for every d@mn disgusting behavior THEY don’t do, but think the masses do are my responsiblity. Today was not a good day — I unloaded my frustration with them. We’ll see if we’re still talking tomorrow.
You know what I’ve found? There is nobody who can give me a rational reason to vote for Obama especially based on his past experiences. I accidentally talked politics to a driver in this transportation system in West Palm Beach and he is a Haitian Black. He has hinted a few times that he loves living with other Blacks and starts talking about racism.
He also talked about property values going up and how he has to pay more even if those properties were probably bought when Jeb Bush was governor, and we live in a very Liberal County. He also talked about “Change”, I asked him what has Obama done in the past to convince you that he is going to help. After 10 minutes of silence he tells me about Obama in Congress. I asked him for specific answers, legislation. He told me that he cannot make stuff up. Basically Obama’s lack of experience didn’t bring out an answer that Obama will do what he has said he will do.
Rest of the thing(and I feel that I didn’t convince him) he gave me reasons to vote against Jeb Bush(Which I didn’t buy), George H. W., George W. but not against John McCain. His name was hardly mentioned. I told him about the 1998 Iraq Liberation Act which meant that we had to go into Iraq and liberate it, he acted dumb a few times. He told me the “Iraq for oil” meme and I asked why didn’t we go into Iraq in the 1970s when we had an oil crisis? Why didn’t we go into Saudi Arabia or Venezuela? I did get the last word as his phone was ringing which was saying that Democrats were in most of the wars in the 20th century when he told me Republicans want all wars.
If I had to convince anybody it would be somebody who would be affected by Obama’s policies. I normally, in casual conversation, don’t talk politics though. I think that had I taken the tack of Obama’s position on Abortion and his quoting scripture to justify Homosexual Civil Unions, this guy would’ve been even more demolished if I had documentation. Yet he probably loves Obama for his skin color and feels as part of the victim class.
I’m still in shock. In the last 3 days I’ve had 5 VERY democrat people tell me that they aren’t voting for the Zero and are voting for McCain. What shocks me the most is that I figured that at least 2 of them would have said that they weren’t voting at all if they weren’t voting for Zero but they were adament that they didn’t want him and are voting Republican for the 1st time in their lives.
How's "the saviour" going to change my insurance? The one's who were discussing the situation actually said that they don't pay for company insurance. None of them are married, but all have younger children, so I'm assuming they're all on medicaid. Even though we make decent money there, it's my understanding if you have underage children, you have the option of medicaid instead of paying for insurance.
I know that, because at one of my previous jobs, I was a supervisor, and wondered why some unmarried women didn't sign up for our health insurance, and they said, why should we, we get medicaid?.....Amazing and sickening.
ACORN Challenge: Register at least 2 dead people and vote Obama for them on election day!
“Anyone care to take up this challenge?”
I can report, mission accomplished.
I did today! I was shocked when a very good friend of mine told me she wasn’t sure who she was going to vote for (she knows my feelings). It must have been hard for her to say that to me. She really loves me and I know she does. So I told her if she can’t make up her mind, vote for McCain for me! She told me ok! And she will!
