JACK WELCH, FORMER CEO GE SAYS 'NO' TO OBAMA
CNBC Kudlow & Cramer Show ^ | 10/29/08 | Kackikat

Posted on 10/29/2008 5:02:08 PM PDT by Kackikat

Jack WELCH, former CEO of GE said on Kudlow that 'I don't know how any businessman could (come out or vote?) for Obama.

Welch explained that Rhode Island has an 8% unemployment rate, and that's 40% higher than the 6% in the rest of country. Welch said that McCAin needs to hit that, because the reason for that 8% in R.I. is directly from the higher taxes in that state, which is highest taxed businesses in U. S.

Jack Welch also condemned the Obama support for "no secret votes on Unions", which Welch said should never happen.

I would like to send this story on to a few friends, but am not seeing it on the cnbc website. Can you point me in the right direction?

Agreed. Many here might call it unpatriotic, but it is one of the things that puts a check on the ability of the Democrats to exact anti-business policies.

GE owns NBC and MSNBC do they not?

GE is part of the problem, not victims of it.

These comments were made by Welch on show Kudlow & Cramer about an hour ago. Jack Welch was among several guests, so his comments may not be listed, unless you get transcript of the show. I just happened to be watching at time Welch came on and discussion of the Tax plans were going on...so I posted it on FR because it matters what Welch thinks.

I expected this eventually. I saw Welch on Hannity and Colmes as the Sub-prime Housing crisis was breaking. He was discussing the fact that the Dems in the House had blocked the regulation of Fannie and Freddie. Colmes interjected ‘but both sides are to blame aren't they?’ Jack had a deer in the headlights moment before saying’ oh, yeah’. He had obviously been told not to hit the Dems too hard. I like Hannity and Colmes but Alan needs to let the truth come out. The blame isn't always equal. I appreciate that Jack Welch has finally voiced what all of us knew.......Obama will kill jobs and incentive. Period. Bad on the economy.

Remember that Jack Welch is FORMER CEO OF GE, and not current, as Immelt is CEO now. So Jack is entitled to his beliefs, even if they conflict with current management. Immelt is the one who was trading with Iran. OReilly has been on Immelt’s case all year. So Welch does not control what is on CNBC, although he makes appearances quite regularly. GE has gone downhill since his retirement.

Immelt’s been put in a bad situation—what companies have done well in terms of stock price?

Immelt has donated to McCain’s campaign, FWIW.

Jack Welch set tyhe stage for the collapse of GE. Don’t blame Jeff Immelt: Welch left him with a company on life support.

Welch was busy with Suzie at the time..
but Immelt is a highly celebrated POS.
When did “bad” become cool?

Jack is a little late to the Not Obama Party and besides he's a no body in GE's eyes. GE put all their rotten eggs in the MSNBC basket and now they can't rid the stench.

Anything stopping Welch from making his own campaign ad?

He has the credibility to make the case against raising taxes.

On top of that O-Six....

Ever talk to someone working for the GE Jet Engines, it is a hell hole with the ABC rack-um stack-um ranking system. 50 something white guys walking around like zombies trying to make it a few mor years.

Not to mention His Offspring like Nardelli who screwed up Home Depot and is doing a Bang up Job over a Chrysler.

Let us not get into the book on the inner workings of GE and the Women they passed around and later committed Suicide.

If you haven't guessed I don't give a $h!+ what Jack Welch thinks, he is another overrated Corporate Demigod.

The only name that gets me more angry thank Nardelli in the business world is "Satan, er, Stan O'Neal."

“Companies the size of GE vote with their feet too.”

You better believe it. I believe that right now, international capital is holding it’s breath. If McCain is elected, capital starts flowing freely again, and the economy will pick up. If 0 wins, international capital flows...away from the United States, as fast as it can, to beat the nationalization wave that’s coming. The economy will crash, and so will the government debt-pyramid scheme.

You can fool people but you can’t fool money.
