Oh, my. Can you just imagine if Sarah Palin or John McCain made a crack like this and botched up their pop culture references to famous black comedy shows?
Can you just imagine the high dudgeon from every minority lawmaker? WaPo and NYTimes columnist? Civil rights organization? The cries of RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACISM would shatter the political Richter scale.
Can you just imagine:
This is what happens when a candidates goes off script.
Barack Obama, in Raleigh, N.C., was doing a riff attacking John McCain for supporting the idea of putting some mandatory retirement money into the stock market.
If Senator McCain is elected, well have another president who wants to privatize part of your Social Security. Could you imagine if you had your Social Security invested in the stock market these last two weeks, these last two months? You wouldnt need Social Security. Youd be having a like, what was it, Sanford and Son. `Im coming Weezie!
Weezie was on The Jeffersons.
The famous line Obama mixed up was from Redd Foxxs Fred Sanford character, who faked having a heart attack to draw sympathy from his son, Lamont:
Oh, this is the big one! You hear that, Elizabeth?! Im coming to join you, honey!
(From Mahalo: When caught in a lie or in an embarrassing situation, Freds favorite response was to fake a heart attack, which he would refer to as the big one. He would grab his chest, look to the sky and speak out to his wife Elizabeth, who passed away sometime before the show began.)
Heres a clip reel a Redd Foxx fan put together of the famous running gag:

Spock didn’t give up when the germans bombed Pearl Harbor either.
BAHAHAHA! I wonder if they’ll be drinking champipple (champaign + Ripple) the evening of Nov. 4th (regardless of the outcome).
And clearly Obama was trying to make a pop culture connection with us poor dumbed down 70’s sitcom watching fool masses.
And failed miserably.
Chocolate News! Can you imagine if there was a show called Vanilla News or Cracker News??? There would be outrage across the nation. I refuse to even watch a minute of it.
But Sanford and Son was a great show. My favorite character was Grady.
What I wouldn’t give to see Aunt Esther call 0bama a heathen and then whack him with her purse...
...and a mighty GOOD one at that!
"DY-NO-MITE!"
That is funny! I wonder how many people will get it.
Is Obama still saying he’s “green behind the ears?”
Whatever it is, it’s looking less and less like Kryptonite.
FDR was the worse President this country ever had and if he hadn't taken advantage of the stock market crash by blaming Hoover, and taking advantage of WWII,he would never have been elected to even two terms. If we are forced to have our money ripped from our checks to pay for SS the money should go into private INTEREST bearing accounts and the money with drawable by the owner of the account anytime they felt like it, without penalty.
SS should actually just be done away with, gradually fazing it out until nothing remains of this communist sharing of the wealth.
Thanks.
Whoa nelly. That’s a keeper. LOL
The bottom line is that BO doesn’t have a funny bone in his boney little man-child body. He can’t deliver a line. Plus, he’s never watched these shows. He’s been too busy for the last 25 years plotting to destroy America.
LOLOL!!!
I also liked “Hoolio and Damn foolio”!
And when Aunt Esther would leave, she’d say, “Bye creature!”
Fred would say “Bye BAT!” LOLOLOL
Wha choo talkin bout Willis?/b>
LOLOL!!! Excellent!!
