Oh, my. Can you just imagine if Sarah Palin or John McCain made a crack like this and botched up their pop culture references to famous black comedy shows?
Can you just imagine the high dudgeon from every minority lawmaker? WaPo and NYTimes columnist? Civil rights organization? The cries of RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACISM would shatter the political Richter scale.
Can you just imagine:
This is what happens when a candidates goes off script.
Barack Obama, in Raleigh, N.C., was doing a riff attacking John McCain for supporting the idea of putting some mandatory retirement money into the stock market.
If Senator McCain is elected, well have another president who wants to privatize part of your Social Security. Could you imagine if you had your Social Security invested in the stock market these last two weeks, these last two months? You wouldnt need Social Security. Youd be having a like, what was it, Sanford and Son. `Im coming Weezie!
Weezie was on The Jeffersons.
The famous line Obama mixed up was from Redd Foxxs Fred Sanford character, who faked having a heart attack to draw sympathy from his son, Lamont:
Oh, this is the big one! You hear that, Elizabeth?! Im coming to join you, honey!
(From Mahalo: When caught in a lie or in an embarrassing situation, Freds favorite response was to fake a heart attack, which he would refer to as the big one. He would grab his chest, look to the sky and speak out to his wife Elizabeth, who passed away sometime before the show began.)
Heres a clip reel a Redd Foxx fan put together of the famous running gag:

Continuing on a theme...
George Jefferson was a black Archie Bunker.
bttt
You would think he would have greater knowledge of ‘Sanford & Son’ since he married Aunt Esther.
Watchit Sucka!
Obama was in his mid teens when he left his mom to go live in Hawaii with his grandparents and I doubt they watched such “trash”. He also was “too cool” for such programming when he went to college and smoked cigarettes and talked Marxism with his friends that he “carefully chose” at the dorm.
Obama and Biden remind me of George Jefferson and Ted Baxter.
My favorite Fred Sanford insult to Aunt Esther:
‘You so ugly you could use your face to stamp gorilla cookies!’
I wonder if Michelle Malkin has seen the Chocolate News on Comedy Central. It’s truly vicious humor at the expense of “white racists” and republicans.
The skit I saw last night showed a black man trying to vote for Obama and the machine would only accept a vote for McCain so he smashed the machine with a baseball bat.
George Jefferson, under 0bama’s economic plans
would have been severely punished for “movin’ on up”.
(He bought a dry cleaning business.)
And both Jefferson and Bunker were funny parodies of real life people.
No, George Jefferson was a capitalist in every sense of the word.
ROFLMAO Bullseye!

Wrong about Batman. Wrong for America.

It’s like that episode where Spock helps Gilligan make a radio.
There's a bad joke in there but I'll pass on it.
