Obama campaign disregards current state polls showing Obama ahead (Obi-Wan tells NRO)

'Hildebrand said the [Obama] campaign disregards current state polls showing Obama ahead.'

Earlier today, Obi Wan told me to expect something big and surprising from Fox News. I didn't post it, because I wanted to see if it would pan out before I raised expectations...

Well, here it is.

In a phone interview with FOX News, Barack Obama’s deputy campaign manager, Steve Hildebrand said: “John McCain is right. Things are tightening in the battleground states.”

FOX News obtained a copy of a memo Hildebrand sent to long-standing Democratic operatives on Tuesday.

The memo, shown below, reveals the extensive get-out-the-vote efforts Obama’s team has underway and “urgent” needs that have yet to be met.

Hildebrand told FOX News he sent the memo out to boost efforts in Florida but that similar memos were also sent out seeking help in North Carolina, Georgia and Ohio. He said needs were less acute in Pennsylvania.

Hildebrand said the campaign disregards current state polls showing Obama ahead.

"They were not always a good indicator in the primaries so we’re working hard now. We feel good but we always need more help in the field. On the ground in these states, things feel like they are tightening."

Everyone needs to go read some PUMA websites. After reading those websites, I feel invigorated.

They will never vote for The One. Most of them sound pretty intelligent and love the ideals of this country.

They know the Democrat party screwed them out of their primary vote and they won’t let it happen in this election.

Hopefully in the next election Ohio will toss Bruner out on her A$$ because she is a disgrace to the state.

There *is* no Bradley Effect. The fact is, Obama’s campaign has been aware that the propaganda pollsters have been overstating his case. The Demwits are going to lose, and they’ve know it for some time.

McCain campaign buys 30-second “pre-buttal” ad,
just prior to Obama’s 30-minute informercial?

It reminds me of Michelle Kwan at the 1998 Olympics. Everyone convinced her that if she didn’t fall, she would win easily. Heck, she could fall once or twice and still win. But she didn’t fall and she didn’t win. Why? Because she skated very tentatively. Tara Lipinski on the other hand was like a firecracker.

Also, perhaps the 6 judges who put Lipinski ahead of Kwan were also rebelling against the skating media. Could the American people rebel also?

"He also may know FL is lost too."

I don't know about the rest but I've noticed that at least here in West Central FL (Ocala, Gainesville, Tampa TV market and west) Obama was spending a boat load of money but in the past week or so the spending is way down or at least seems to be anyway. Biden was just in Ocala the other day and had a reported crowd of 3500 or so but I hear it wasn't nearly so well attended. So you may be right.

i have a feel ing if McCain gets in and stays true to his word on who likes to eat pork there may be many Rats tossed out on their arses.

I would love to see Rudy Guiliani as AG going after all the Freddie/Fannie corruption in the congress...starting with Chrissy Dodd and Bawney Fwank...then have Rudy move along and go after a RICO case regarding ACORN and add the charge of attempting to disenfranchise the vote of the American people under the 14th Amendment ( One man = One vote)

I'm not a lawyer but it sure would be great to see this happen.

First of all let me say.......

"Daahhling I looove your outfit......but why didn't you come see me sooner? It's been to loooonng!....sit..sit!!!!" - couldn't resist a little "Incredibles" humor......

I think it's a combination of being told the same tired thing over and over that we are becoming tone deaf....

Also Barack is trying to sell "change" during a time of uncertainty but he hasn't been able to close the deal because he keeps changing his stance ...first it was everyone under 250K, then it was 200K now its 150K.

And let's not forget he has some pretty shady friends/ acquaintances and I think people get the sense that something is just not right about this guy and their also not comfortable because too many average American's have their money tied up in the markets and probably feel that one wrong move from "JUNIOR" and it all might disappear like in 1929......except this time it's going to be them not just the super rich only "Like in the movie Auntie Mame".

Finally, having the media show their arrogance and print stuff like Barack wins! is going to piss off the elderly in places like Florida...and voters like us who know whats going on....nobody likes to betold it's a foregone conclusion when the die hasn't even been cast yet......

It also serves as a double edged sword when the Dem's and the Media say it's overwhelmingly for Barack...their voters will continue to sit on their lazy arses and not bother to vote...not important enough....and it's hard to modivate them to get off their collective arses to do anything anyway......that's why a lot of them are where they are on the economic scale.......
