Well, when something seems too good to be true, it usually is, and reports coming out of the state provide us with the following ultra-amazing information:
Mississippis voter situation is hard to believe. Places like Madison County have over 123% more registered voters than people over the age of 18...
We have people who registered in 1965 who have never voted, she says. We have 486 people (registered who are) over 105.

The tactics of tapping into confidential government records and leaking the contents to the press sounds eerily like the situation that happened to Joe the Plumber. Any dissent could be grounds for having your personal information rifled through.
More power to the PUMAs. Good to see them stand up and be counted.

I’ve said this on other threads and I’ll say it again. The allegations and proof of fraud are so endemic that the entire nation needs to revamp voter registration and ballot-casting laws. Everyone should be required to re-register between now and the 2010 congressional election. They should be required to register in person, present valid identification and proof of citizenship, and sign their registration in the presence of government officials who also signed as witnesses. There should no longer be third-party registration drives. Those citizens who cannot make it to a government office in the next two years should be able to present a doctor’s attestation of their incapacity and then a government official could visit their home to complete the registration. All citizens should be required to complete their registration at least one month before the election, if not 90 days, to allow verification of information.
Making it “easy” to vote has opened the door to rampant fraud and manipulation by partisan groups and officials. Voting is a privilege and the exercise of it ought to entail some effort beyond answering the doorbell.
