A national defense analyst says President Bush should be commended for keeping quiet about a discovery that could have blown his critics out of the water.
Retired Major General Jerry Curry is a decorated combat veteran who served as an Army aviator, paratrooper, and Ranger during a military career that began during the Korean conflict. He recently wrote on his blog about a very under reported story by the Associated Press.
According to the report, a large stockpile of concentrated natural Uranium, known as "yellowcake," reached a Canadian port to complete a top secret U.S. Operation that included a two-week airlift from Baghdad, and a ship voyage crossing two oceans. The Uranium material had been housed at a former Iraqi nuclear complex 12 miles from Baghdad.
Curry says the president kept mum about the discovery in order to keep terrorists in the dark. "He made a very brave stand, a resolute stand..., in which he decided that he wasn't going to blab everything to the press," Curry commends. "...And in the meantime while he kept it quiet, he was buying time from the terrorists to get all that stuff out of the country. So that's what was done -- he just very quietly kept his mouth shut."
"The press beat him to death for the last several years," he continues, "and now it turns out that, yes, there were weapons of mass destruction...." Curry also maintains that Saddam Hussein had an active nuclear program and the material could have been made into a nuclear weapon.
President Bush's actions took courage, he notes, and all Americans should be thankful to have such a brave president who puts the welfare of the American people above personal considerations.

“Some things are more important then political power.
Like the lives of our troops.”
Good point and point taken. We are safe because he let the commanders do their job. I thank him for that also.
I stand by the rest of it.
He failed me with zero leadership this last four years and I feel betrayed.
If BO wins I lay it at the feet of Bush and his lack of fight and leadership while these socialist day in and day out talked this country down and gained power by doing so.
Tuff if folks can’t handle it!
Only, it's not a lie. MSM will not report that; it destroys their credibility and their agenda.
BDS claims another victim.

In my opinion, just my opinion, it is treason to change from fourth estate to fifth column, as the alphabet networks and too many newspapers have done. Thye have become the enemy within, seeking to ‘change’ the Republic into a Marxist state. It is no longer a subtle change, it is blatant and quite overt. But, it’s almost hunting season.
Over the next four years it’s going to resemble bison on the western planes, as the media carcasses pile up.
Then we can tell our grandchildren, “I remember when...”, boring the poor little things to death. If they only knew...
I believe a written press is important. It is a shame the print media has chosen to self-destruct rather than live up to it’s honorable mandate.
Given the choice between a treasonous press or no written press, there’s no question which way to go.
I’ll be surprised if papers like the Washington Times die though. They will have a following, as others lose theirs.
Freep mail me what happened. I won't tell a soul!
Because the MSM isn’t interested in the truth. And the Bush administration has the worst public relations effort in the history of the republic.
Thanks for your service.
The left wing mediots and rats congress have taken advantage of GW’s oath like with this yellow cake bs, knowing that his oath would not allow him to say anything nor defend himself in lies of a critical nature.
Joe Wilson was a liar and traitor and so were his backers in his vile yellow cake lies and the supposed outing of his wife.
GW, his Dad and Ronald Reagan would never disclose secrets that could hurt this nation, our intel people and valuable resources around the world.
Carter, Clinton and God Help us if Obama get elected had/would have no problem compromising our intel, selling it and endangering people doing intel work.
How is it when you make a simple point about yellow cake you get branded an obama supporter and a troll? From everything I have read the yellow cake in Iraq was not concentrated enough to make a dirty bomb. It would have to be concentrated to prove effective, that was my only point.

Troll alert or another mental cripple with BDS so bad, they need help.
Weren't we warned in those security briefing about folks like Laz? You know, the one claiming to have dirty pictures and was going to them send to our mothers.
My favorite was the bar scene where a gorgeous young blond tried to pick us up. Hell, their wasn't a blond within 1000 miles of where I was.
“Hell, their wasn’t a blond within 1000 miles of where I was.”
Often in my situations, they would have had to be one hell of an off shore swimmer.
There was probably no blonde within 5,000 miles of where you were.
I don’t believe the UN’s seals would have prevented Saddam from using the yellow cake. If the need arose? That yellow cake was a weapon of mass distruction.
Western Australia was a blond hair over 2600 Miles.
I remember hearing that El BVD was upset that we removed a bunch cause it had his personal seal on it, we took out a bunch more in 05 or 06, there was radioactive materials from the early 80's, components under flowerbeds, pictures and documentation of cw & bw missles & artillery shells, etc, etc, etc,.
And, while having lunch in the shade afforded by a mountain of emptied missles and shell cases, giant, bloated pink hairless rats would swear Bush lied about the whole thing, and few other than Rumsfield & Cheney would back him up, Bush taking his usual position on top of the nearest flagpole, "safely" above the fray.
