The McCain campaign is definitely demoralized right now. The blame game has begun.
There is no question that there is a rift between Sarah Palin's camp and that of John McCain inside the Republican campaign, sources tell ABC News.
Watch George Stephanopoulos on "Nightline" tonight at 11:35 p.m. ET on ABC
And you are seeing people within the McCain campaign starting to look to the future.
Not only Palin, but many of the McCain staffers, as well, are circulating their resumes and pointing the finger.
Whenever people in the campaign are starting to worry more about their own reputations rather than whether they're going to win in seven days, there is a significant problem.

As an ol karate guy, when the opponent is mouthin, its time to take it
to em multiple times in the same place.
In the present context, that means keep drilling on the communist angle.
Then a figher does a switchup i.e. uppercut or switch hands/stance and
Keep on pushin.
It OK to take a couple if you havent you have no idea how to draw from the inside to push the fight to the opponent.
I kinda think Sarah understands this concept. I kinda think Johnny covers well but wont blast and charge out of the corner.
I never found any value in getting beat up in the corner.
My advice to Johnny?
Always charge.
Always push back.
To Sarah?...
Keep doin what youre doing I look forward to voting you the first
female president of the United States.
But first things first.
Get the commie puke out of here. He stinks up the whole country.
This isn’t the first time Politico has done something like this that has gotten in the mainstream media. They seem to delight in causing problems with the GOP candidates.
If it wasn’t for FR a lot of this stuff would not get out anywhere.
Sorry to disappoint you, but McPalin will win.
lonestar67: Updated and corrected. Thank you!
Here are the under-reported reasons I have collected visiting FR way too much.
1) Polls that show Obama ahead tell a different story when internals are studied. Please see http://hillbuzz.wordpress.com/2008/10/14/an-eeyore-free-zone for a primer on how polls are cooked. UPDATE: Rasmussen saying McCain ahead in Florida and Ohio.
And now, a brief history lesson of ACTUAL ELECTION RESULTS:
1980: Reagan 50.75%, Carter 41%, (+9.75 Reagan) Reagan won 45 states.
1984: Regan 58.77%, Mondale 40.56% (+18.21 Regan) Reagan won 49 states.
1988: Bush 53.37%, Dukakis 45.65% (+7.72 Bush) Bush won 42 states.
1992: Clinton 43.01%, Bush 37.45%, Perot 18.91% (+5.66% Clinton) Clinton won 30 states.
1996: Clinton 49.23%, Dole 40.72%, Perot 8.40% (+8.49% Clinton) Clinton won 31 states.
2000: Bush 47.87%, Gore 48.38% (Gore +0.49%) Bush won 30 states.
2004: Bush 50.73%, Kerry 48.27% (Bush +2.46%) Bush won 31 states.
NO WAY is Obama up 14 points!
2) Hillary and Bill are not acting like they want Obama to win, since she wants to run again in 2012, despite what she alludes to. Notice Hillary has not gotten Berg to cut it out with his “birth certificate” lawsuit.
3) Hussein being Obamas middle name is still news to most people.
4) A picture of Obama dressed as a Muslim (there are at least three) is still worth 1000 words (3000 in this case). Man your email station! Post bills!
5) The PUMAs who know the hows and whys of Hillary getting cheated, will vote Palin, and will pull others. Check out http://www.hillaryclintonforum.net/discussion/showthread.php?t=33711&page=3 and http://democrats-against-obama.org. Freeper lonestar67 says, “Surveys have suggested that as many as 20-30% of Democrats may vote for McCain based on the rejection of Hillary. If even fractions of these claims are true, Obama would be hard pressed to win the election— especially in key states such as Pennsylvania and Ohio.”
6) [Bitter Clingers] to [Religion and Guns], will vote McCain, so much so that 22K of the 45K in Grand Junction, Colorado came out to see her http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2110920/posts.
7) The Palins ARE America and the conservative base. America and the conservative base will vote accordingly. According to http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2106836/posts parts of the country that were not fired up about the election, are working for Palin. She draws THOUSANDS at every campaign stop.
8) The NRA has 8 figures of ads to unload in swing states
9) At one point, Obama was only 5 points up in New York! New York!
10) The Democrats were talking about Democratic consultants freaking out over Obama mis-managing his campaign before they settled into poll alteration.
11) The Enemedia is already spreading the meme that if Obama loses, it is racism. They see the tea leaves ...
12) The Media was calling the election for Kerry ELECTION MORNING in 2004, and Carter and Reagan polled evenly on election day! SOMEONE is trying to buffalo us with these polls! For more on the history of polls leaning Democrat, please see http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2106669/posts Both Zogby and Mike McCurry predicted a Kerry win.
13) McCain has only started to play the Ayers card. McCain has not yet played the Tony Rezko, Odinga, ... more at http://www.barackbook.com
14) Plenty of long-time Democratic voters are unimpressed with Obama, and will not vote for him. Two midwestern transplants have volunteered to me that they know lifelong Democrats who WILL NOT vote for Obama. The 1st hand accounts here on Free Republic about lack of enthusiasm for Obama relative to Kerry similarly bodes poorly for Obama.
15) Obama has only 75% of the Jewish vote last I checked, just like Kerry (comfortable R win). Gore got 90% (close R win). Please see http://marcambinder.theatlantic.com/archives/2008/05/obama_and_the_jewish_vote.php and http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/08293/921167-470.stm
16) The Christian base that re-elected Bush in 2004, knows Sarah is more than a Sunday Christian, and is praying for her.
17) McCain opened 50 offices in California. Its in play! It should be the bluest of the blue, and it is not.
18) Google Bradley Effect. Obama is getting poll votes hell never get on election day. PUMAs have also agreed to lie to pollsters about supporting Obama, and are encouraging others to do so.
19) Operation Chaos resulted in an overlarge quantity of Democrat registrations that will never ever vote Democratic.
20) Obamas spread the wealth line to Joe the Plumber will cost him undecideds not ready to etch the current class structure in stone.
21) The Enemedia overstating Obamas popularity will cut two ways. The lazy, and the youth, (core Democrat constituencies) will not brave traffic and lines to vote on election day, since they were lied to by the KGBMedia to believe that Obama has a gigantic lead. In fact, if I worked for the GOP, I’d make sure free beer/music parties were being held outside of every major blue city before/on election day. They’re called “raves”.
22) There is a group playing Jeremiah Wrights ads. Read more about it http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2108462/posts, and to donate visit https://www.completecampaigns.com/FR/contribute.asp?campaignid=OCDBPac.
23) The Obama crew already knows theyre going to lose. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2110803/posts and http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2103037/posts
24) Kerry won the Nickelodeon kids vote 57/43, and Obama won it 51/49! If you dont think kids vote like their parents, then you got another thing coming! http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2110843/posts
25) Freeper lonestar67 says, “... the misogynist treatment of Palin by the media elite has provided additional elements to the coming silent backlash— especially among women.”
26) Polls are meant by the Enemedia, to SHAPE public opinion, not to accurately report it. Get your news here! Stop torturing yourself! We bring the liberal media lies here, and we dissect them through the lenses of Christianity and Conservatism.
Fellow Freepers, please feel free to post this list every time you see a Freeper or anyone feeling down, anywhere. No need to credit me or ping or write me.
If you do start spreading this list, it might not be bad for you to check back for updates since Freepers are always kindly giving feedback to this list.
Let me know if you have any other under-reported reasons for the coming McCain/Palin win.
Mantra: Taxes kill businesses kill jobs kill people
Please tell me if you think there are mistakes.
When all else fails, try to drive a wedge between McCain and Palin.
Don’t take the bait... don’t despair. The real rift is between the Obama staffers and Biden staffers. After seeing the thin-skinned actions of the Obama staffers you can be sure that they’ve clamped down on Biden staffers after Joe’s “rhetorical flourishes” and deer-in-the-headlights performance in the Barbara West interview. Believe me - Obama is going to try to keep Biden hidden in the background unless he is heavily scripted with a teleprompter. All this nonsense about a McCain/Palin rift is just a cover for the Obama/Biden tension.
Thing about being a media analyst is that Georgie cashes his check even if he turns out to be dead wrong. Nice gig if you can get it.
Again, I refer you to the earlier thread so that you can judge for yourself.
Trzanslation, John McCain and Sarah Palin are rejecting the advice of fifth column RINOs in the campaign and it is causign a “rift”.
The media cannot find time to discuss further evidence that Obama holds Marxist redistribution of wealth (taxation without representation) very close to his heart.
They are too busy telling us the lastest Sarah Palin fashion scandal and biased poll numbers.
The GOP was destroyed by one of their staunch supporters - corporate America. Out sourcing jobs, supporting illegal immigration, incapable of self regulating, leveraging everything and other people’s money and call it economics, and finally poor leadership (bonuses for CEO’s while the workers are told the company is bankrupted, take government bailout money and hold an expensive party/retreat in a luxury resort). That itself will turn a freedom loving American into a rich hating facist or communist overnight. Mc was gaining with Palin as VP, but that all turned just when the stock market tanked and the overleveraged scams came home to roost. Sure bad subprime mortgages is the primer, but a properly structured investment portfolio should not cause an entire investment bank to collapse, unless someone placed most of its assets into high risk highly leveraged investment vehicles. Business management and regulators failed to monitor what their expert investors were doing with the companies portfolios until it was too late. These Harvard Yale graduates were suppose to be superior to gov regulators because they live in the real world while gov regulators are over bearing jerks. Guess not all gov regs are stupid. Hate to tell ya so, regs that kept banks, acct firms and investment firms separate were not put in place because of socialism, but real life experience of the 1929 Stock Market Collapse. Learn from history the mistakes of the past and you will never repeat it. The nature of corporate leaders have not changed since ancient times. To paraphrase an old Chinese/Korean advice that emperors passed onto their crown princes - “the merchant class is vital to the empire because they create wealth, you must keep an eye on them because they are capable of being wicked and greedy and corrupt officials and cheat the people, if they are caught doing that, a good king must find a way to punish them without destroying their ability to make money for the kingdom”. The GOP and Dems can learn from this ancient saying.
Wishful thinking for the extremist media.
Ahh yes,
Ya gotta love ol’ Joe
The gift that just keeps on given.
"There is no question that there is a rift between Sarah Palin's Conservative Base camp and that of John McCain's RINO Faction inside the Republican campaign, sources tell ABC News."
These rift in the campaign stories that are posted over and over with no basis or documented source are posted to discourage McCain / Palin voters, also there is a personal
agenda.
You nailed it.
Yes, that will be true, win or lose.
However, as for the Wallace story, it seems to be a bit more substantiated. And, I agree with you ---> if Sarah doesn't like Nicolle ---> Nicolle should go.
When asked to comment on the Politico story by AFP, Wallace said in an email: "I have no comment other than what's in the story, if people wish to throw me under the bus, my personal belief is that the graceful thing to do is to lie there."
http://afp.google.com/article/ALeqM5igWA77jTUWXP5cqP7Xy1MDq8I1ZQ
The bottomline is that there were some disagreements, the MSM picked up on them and they are now using them to divide us. The smart thing to do would be to ignore this storyline. I am confident Sarah will take care of herself from here on out.
