Although the legitimacy of Sen. Barack Obama's birth certificate has become a focus of intense speculation and even several lawsuits it has been learned that Hawaii's Gov. Linda Lingle has placed the candidate's birth certificate under seal and instructed the state's Department of Health to make sure no one in the press obtains access to the original document under any circumstances.

Assuming there really is a Birth Certificate, anyone willing to bet it is sealed because the Baby's real name is ... Barack Mohammed Husein Obama
... and/or the document contains some other highly embarrassing revelation?

Then let’s see a COPY of it! Why would someone hide a brith certificate that will be required to be presented should someone actually be elected to office???

“Hawaiis governor is a Republican.”
So? Many liberal Republicans are siding with Obama.

I don’t think there’s anything on his Hawaiian birth certificate that would prove him Constitutionally disqualified. If a genuine Kenyan BC were to be unearthed, however . . . .

The clear implication... would it be the first sealed empty file? Why seal it, unless it is a fraudulent doc?
Obama has had two years of questions concerning his birth during which he could have delivered a verified document at any time and has not...
Why?

“his mom is American so I dont get the citizen issue”
She was living overseas and had a baby overseas. That makes the baby not an American.

let’s hope the Governor’s action is to preserve the evidence
Obama’s personal trip “home” may have inspired efforts at skulduggery

It could mean that it shows he was not actually born in Hawaii. More likely, in my mind, is that it shows him as a Caucasian - something that might be more damaging to him.

FEC filed in the Berg case that checking on legitimacy is not their pervue. It belongs to the House - after the election.

Regardless of how this ends up playing out, and hopefully, we WILL get satisfaction, despite the obvious cover-up and judicial misconduct, we need a few more laws to protect us in the future. I suggest the following:
1) A candidate for federal office must make available to the public all records concerning his eligibility, educational transcripts, publications, and official writings, including papers submitted for grades, official letters, and official memos. No educational institution or former employer of a candidate may withhold from the public official records of a present or former student, faculty member or employee who becomes a candidate for federal office, or any of their official writings. Documentation must be made available in a timely manner for consideration by the electorate. Persons who withhold records of a candidate for public office shall be punishable by up to ten years in federal prison. (Eat that, you scum from Columbia University, Harvard, and Chicago!)
2) All citizens are potentially injured parties regarding a candidate's eligibility for office, and have standing to sue (the rear ends of the scumbags who are trying to destroy this country).

he was adopted by his Indonesian stepfather, thus his orginal birth certificate (from wherever) would have been part of the sealed adoption record kept in Hawaii

Indeed, if he has nothing to hide, why is he in hiding?

The Hawaiian governor is a very strong Republican (she introduced Palin at the convention). So I trust that this report is a sliver of the truth and that, if she has it under seal, she is only following the law. Something really stinks here.

Hawaiian State law says a birth certificate can only be released to the individual them self, or a direct relation of the individual with legal interest involved.
I believe it was enacted as a part of a push to protect against identity theft.

Not at all...
Under seal, we have no clue what she has in her file...
If it is legit, why has Obama worked so hard to keep it concealed?

My understanding is that it is a Certificate of Live Birth and not a Birth Certificate. Big difference. The Birth Certificate that he put up on his web site was a photo-shopped version of his half sister's birth certificate. If that isn't a red flag, I don't know what is.

I’m with you to the extent that there is a lot going on here. Attorneys and media are poised to jump into the issue. Loyalties of state workers with access to records are “unknown”. Lawsuits are in process.
Best to seal the docs from curious eyes and let the due process take care of it (and hope it will).
I just wish this had been done before grandma got sick.

She and Sarah Palin are quite good friends from an interview they did.
