God our Father, Giver of life, we entrust the United States of America to Your loving care. You are the rock on which this nation was founded. You alone are the true source of our cherished rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Reclaim this land for Your glory and dwell among Your people. Send Your Spirit to touch the hearts of our nation´s leaders. Open their minds to the great worth of human life and the responsibilities that accompany human freedom. Remind Your people that true happiness is rooted in seeking and doing Your will. Through the intercession of Mary Immaculate, Patroness of our land, grant us the courage to reject the "culture of death." Lead us into a new millennium of life. We ask this through Christ Our Lord. Amen. |

Thank you for that. I’m printing it out. Our nation has been in my prayers more lately than it ever has before.
Amen.
Perfect. Thank you.
I’ve prayed more this year than I have for the last 10 years combined and I am not a religous person........
A Call for a Rosary Novena
Dear Sisters, We received this invitation to join in a Rosary Novena October 27 - November 4. Let us try to double our efforts to pray. Perhaps our Lady is asking for a “surge” of prayers in this battle for life.
Attached is an exhortation on the rosary written by Fr. Harold Cohen, S.J. in 1992.

A Call for a Rosary Novena
Among the most important titles we have in the Catholic Church for the Blessed Virgin Mary are Our Lady of Victory and Our Lady of the Rosary. These titles can be traced back to one of the most decisive times in the history of the world and Christendom. The Battle of Lepanto took place on October 7 (date of feast of Our Lady of Rosary), 1571. This proved to be the most crucial battle for the Christian forces against the radical Muslim navy of Turkey. Pope Pius V led a procession around St. Peters Square in Vatican City praying the Rosary. He showed true pastoral leadership in recognizing the danger posed to Christendom by the radical Muslim forces, and in using the means necessary to defeat it. Spiritual battles require spiritual weapons, and this more than anything was a battle that had its origins in the spiritual ordera true battle between good and evil.
Today we have a similar spiritual battle in progressa battle between the forces of good and evil, light and darkness, truth and lies, life and death. If we do not soon stop the genocide of abortion in the United States, we shall run the course of all those that prove by their actions that they are enemies of Godtotal collapse, economic, social, and national. The moral demise of a nation results in the ultimate demise of a nation. God is not a disinterested spectator to the affairs of man. Life begins at conception. This is an unalterable formal teaching of the Catholic Church. If you do not accept this you are a heretic in plain English. A single abortion is homicide. The more than 48,000,000 abortions since Roe v. Wade in the United States constitute genocide by definition. The group singled out for deathunwanted, unborn children.
No other issue, not all other issues taken together, can constitute a proportionate reason for voting for candidates that intend to preserve and defend this holocaust of innocent human life that is abortion.
I strongly urge every one of you to make a Novena and pray the Rosary to Our Lady of Victory between October 27th and Election Day, November 4th. Pray that Gods will be done and the most innocent and utterly vulnerable of our brothers and sisters will be protected from this barbaric and grossly sinful blight on society that is abortion. No woman, and no man, has the right to choose to murder an innocent human being.
May God grant us the wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and counsel to form our conscience in accordance with authentic Catholic teaching, and then vote that well-formed Catholic conscience.
God Bless You
Fr. John Corapi

The Power of the Rosary An Election Eve Reflection
As we come down to the wire in our presidential race, I would like to call to mind the power of prayer, especially the power of the Rosary in achieving the purposes of God.
In this critical time in our country, we need the man who is most conformed to the mind and heart of God. I want to encourage all of you to redouble your prayers and sacrifices that our Father, in Jesus name, send His Spirit upon the American people to guide us in our choice.
In particular I want to recite a litany of Rosary victories victories won against overwhelming odds through the power of the Rosary and invocation of Mary.
Lepanto 1571 - The Christian fleet under Don Juan of Austria defeated the far superior Turkish fleet after a Rosary Crusade organized by Pope Pius V.
Vienna 1683 Christian forces, of some 80,000, under the Northern Lion, John Sobieski, King of Poland, defeated the Turkish forces of 250,000. Sobieski publicly placed all his trust in Our Lady and prayed the Rosary to invoke her protection. The words, Mary help us were on everybodys lips.
Sri Lanka (Ceylon) 1940 When the Japanese fleet was heading toward their island nation, the bishop promised to build a cathedral in honor of Mary is she would protect them. Unexpectedly, the Japanese fleet turned around and did not attack Sri Lanka.
Austria 1950s After the people pleaded for Marys intervention and prayed the Rosary, occupying Russian troops pulled out in a totally unprecedented move.
Brazil 1960s On the eve of a sure Communist victory in elections, Brazilian women processed in the streets praying the Rosary and the Communist Party suffered a surprising defeat.
Philippines 1980s President Marcos government was peacefully overthrown as people opposed tanks with rosary beads and flowers. Our Lady is said to have appeared in the sky to Marcos soldiers telling them not to harm her people. A statue now commemorates this.
New Orleans, October 1990 A group prayed 15 decades of the Rosary outside of the Delta Womens Clinic. This prayer had been preceded by a monthly procession there by participants in the Rosary Novena for Life. The Clinic was down within a week on Magificats day of the Rosary Congress.
USA 1992 We pray that through countless prayer and rosaries of Gods People, the man most in accord with the mind and heart of Gods will be elected President of these United States.
If my people who are called by My name humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.: (2Chron. 7:14)
O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!
Father Harold f. Cohen, S.J.
I am not a religious person, I am however very spiritual and believe in God and the Trinity. This is a beautiful prayer. I too have found myself talking with God more and more. I am deeply afraid for our country and my countrymen that they have been so grossly misled by our country’s leaders. The far left is must be without a notion of God in their hearts and minds.
You echo my sentiments.
There is no peace in our future.
The other might I prayed and asked God to let us accept His will, I felt that many people were praying. I felt He would protect this country. I really think McCain will win against all odds. Thank you God! Please pray.
