Linda Lingle has placed the candidate's birth certificate under seal, and instructed the state's Department of Health to make sure no one in the press obtains access to the original document under any circumstances.

His passport would have helped satisfy his points of ID requirements.
But, a passport can be obtained without a birth certificate. The state department just requires a ‘Letter of No Record’.
Maybe she sealed it to protect it from being replaced with a forgery.

No leader wants to be responsible for causing civil unrest. Gov. Lingle will not release anything damaging to Obama.
Isn’t this an indication that there is a birth certificate to begin with? In which case the whole “Obama isn’t a natural born citizn” arguement is moot.
I think it would really help if we had a summary of issues here. I see the same questions coming by over and over again. Every now and then we ought to post that summary. Kinda like a FAQ type thing.

According to a news blurb I read on the web, John McCain is related to 0bama through King William of Scotland. I am a direct decendant of King William's great grandparents, King Malcolm III of Scotland and his wife Saint Margaret. So are probably many people of Scottish and English ancestry. The English link is through Malcolm and Margeret's daughter Matilda (also known as Edith of Scotland) who married English King Henry I, the son of William the Conqueror.

He’s going to have to open up all of that stuff. Think about it. We will all be pitbulls. It just wasn’t that smart of him to think he could just hide his BC, college grades, etc. and get away with it. The sheer arrogance of it all is galling.
Amen. My usually astute husband’s response is “I’m sure someone has checked that out before now”...and walks off....while I twirl in circles screaming...NO ONE HAS AND NO ONE CARES BUT A FEW OF US BUT THAT DOESN’T MAKE IT RIGHT!! ARGGGGGGGGGG.
That gives me lots of confidence that he’s natural born. /s
So what are the implications if he DOES happen to win and is found out to be ineligible?
Does Biden automatically get in?
Do we run the elections again, this time with Hillary as candidate?
Does McCain get in, winning by default?
