Is there any metropolitan area in a swing state that is more McCain friendly Jacksonville, Florida? Charlotte, North Carolina? St. Louis, Missouri?
In 2004, in Duval County, which shares the same borders as Jacksonville, voted Bush over Kerry at a 58% to 42% margin. I believe the margin could be greater for McCain this year.
I just drove two miles from my sister's house and counted 28 McCain/Palin signs and 0 for "that One."
Jax and the Panhandle are going to have to save Florida again . Central Florida / I-4 corridor is going to be a battleground , yet again , as B.O. has a strong groundgame there .
You got to be kidding.
It is nothing but a rat infested city on the big muddy!
This is Blue Dog Democrat country plus Repubs. Obama will not get many votes from Blue Dogs in N and Central FL.
Hillary thrashed Obama in FL. Hill 50, Obamabi 32(?) and Edwards 14. Those Hillary Dems know they got screwed and want some payback.
You got to be kidding.

Not quitting, not quizing. Just did not know whether there was any fairly large city in a swing state nearly as McCain friendly as Jacksonville, Florida.
Obama will take a drubbing here. In the primaries, Romney beat McCain handily in Jacksonville.
If you live in a swing state, print signs from your computer, “Obama is a Socialist” or “Socialism isn’t Change” and glue them to lampposts at busy intersections.
Thousands of people will see them everyday.
Driving around the neighborhood here in Jax, we counted 52 McCain signs and 5 Obama signs.
Zinzinnati almost always manages to carry Ohio for the Grand Old Party. And despite its well deserved reputation as cheap, its zip codes are always in the top of donations to the Republican presidential candidate,
My fear is the fix is in, and there is no number of votes we can make to change it. Regardless, I and my family will stand in the line no matter how long and we will be passing votes for Sarah/McCain!
The Cincy area is also home to perhaps the most right wing Jewish community in the nation.
I think the ground game in Jacksonville is exceptionally strong this year. The problem is that Jacksonville’s metropolitan population is smaller than Miami (way Obama), Orlando (probably slightly Obama), and Tampa (probably moderately McCain).
You will get no argument on that fact.
Do you think McCain will beat Obama by 16 plus percentage points in the Cincy area?
If you think Indiana is in play: Ft. Wayne In.?
So does McCain .
We received 6 calls about our absentee ballots from McCain !
We worked in Reno this weekend and there were plenty of volunteers from all over the west !
16 points is high, but ten points would not be unrealistic. I still think that SE Ohio will determine the election (and I don't see Appalachia being Obama-friendly country).
Don’t know if there is another town like Jacksonville. north Fl conservative, lots of hunters, military, Lots of church goers, relatively small % black population as large as Duvall county is.
And ridiculed by the MSM for all of that. Called redneck and otherwise slighted by big city folk when we hosted the Super Bowl a few years ago. Palin would love it here.
I think many of the Dems will vote for Obama. I think in the SE and Midwest like PA & OH (I lump PA in the midwest) that Blue Dog Dems are just not going to vote for Obama.
I also think many of these blue Dogs and White Dems think Obama hijacked the Dem Party. There was never a reconcilliation there. Many of them hate Obama and ACORN for stealing their primary and based on the evidence, they were robbed.
If Obama wins - the Dem Party becomes the Obama ACORN Dem Party forever. Many moderate, blue dog white Dems want their party back. Many depend on it for their livelihood.
They can easily fix this and the ONLY way is the privacy of a polling booth where they vote McCain. Wonder why Obama’s goons want open votes in unions versus secret ballots like we have in elections?
I have seen homes where they had Kerry/Gore signs and they are Dems. No sign or a McCain sign. They know if Obama loses then the Clintons are back in power.
If you think Indiana is in play: Ft. Wayne In.?

Seeing as how RCP has Obama up in Indiana, I’d say Inidiana is a battleground. Didn’t know Ft. Wayne was as big as it is—over a quarter of a million people.
