IF we had an ear listening from the McCain/Palin camp, what ideas should we get to them with only 9 days remaining. Time is running out. I say, bring up all and everything about Barack Hussein Obama and get tougher. Also when talking about BHO, say Barack Hussein Obama. Why are we forbidden to even use his middle name. This Marxist hasn't taken over yet. Ideas........
“McCain-Palin campaign: If you want to win, ignore all vanities.”
We are “Joe The Plumber.”
Look at what one plumber has done.
sweetiepiezer the Grandmother.
Your post seems to be based on the misguided assumption that McCain is going to lose.
Rasmussun iternals are the following:
Democrats 40 percent
Republicans 32 percent
Independenta 28 percent
Wirh the skewing towards democrats they still only get 7.2 point lead for the O.
The mix should be 40 40 R’s and D’s and 20 ind.
With the correction we have a slight McCain lead.
Even Zogby has changed his magic sauce showing McCain up 5 points from yesterday.
At most this is a 1-3 point race and O underpreforms at the ballot box vs the polls.
McCain wins at least 300 EV
“Why are you shouting this?”
“Your post seems to be based on the misguided assumption that McCain is going to lose.”
We are going to win but I want a GOP landslide.
As a former PTA president and a citizen with no standing, I feel qualified to make the following suggestion for the final week:
Here’s what issues resonate with most uninformed voters at the end of the day:
1. Their moral code - so push the infanticide/abortion record. Many independents and moderates may not have heard of Obama’s record on the Born Alive act in Illinois and the US Senate. PUSH THIS BIG TIME. This issue will sway many voters.
2. Their pocketbook - so push the end of the Bush tax cuts and what that means to each individual family and what the Democrats want to do with 401(k)s. I looked at our potential tax increase in our family with Obama, and we are going to be paying almost $300 a month more in taxes when the Bush tax cuts expire. Most independents need to know how it’s going to affect them personally, and most of them can’t afford to see an end to the Bush tax cuts. Also, the recent suggestion that we follow Argentina’s move to seize 401(k)s and force people into a government-run retirement fund should scare the bejeezus out of anyone who’s got one.
3. Their patriotism - so push the socialism issue. Most independent voters see themselves as patriotic and are proud of their country’s heritage. Compare our unique free-market system to the socialism of Europe and most people recognize that we didn’t become the most powerful nation in the world ‘spreading the wealth around.’ Show Obama’s early associations with the New Party and the Chicago Democratic Socialists of America. The vast majority of independent voters don’t want America to become socialist, like Europe, because we’re better than them.
4. Their sense of fairness - so push the system of checks and balances in the government. Emphasize the blank check Democrats would have in the government to actually become a tyrannical power forcing their agenda through without any opportunity for the opposing side to ever stop it. Point out the wasteful spending that Obama has supported and as president would not even bat an eye signing into law, where as the democrats couldn’t run amuck with their money under a McCain presidency. Most independents sit on the fence and feel like they have ideas on both sides of the aisle, so make sure they see they’ll be forced to sacrifice their ideals on one side if they let the Democrats have total power. (Lots of opportunity here)
What they don’t care about or can’t understand:
Anything that takes more than 30 seconds to explain. So, don’t go into long explanations about the economic meltdown, the war in Iraq, Ayers, ACORN (except maybe to appeal to their sense of fairness), Jeremiah Wright, Rezko, potential attacks, etc. Keep it simple.
If I could get close enough to have a joe the plumber moment with one of these candidates my question would be
“Since it is above your paygrade to know when life begins, why are you forging ahead with the Freedom of Choice Act within your first one hundred days in office instead of erring on the side of caution, and why are you going to put my tax dollars toward it? Where is my freedom to choose NOT to support abortion?”
I hope and pray someone asks that one of the One!
Get out the vote, get out the vote, get out the vote..
I’m not sure how much infrastructure the McCain Campaign has to GOTV, but it soo crucial with all of the negative stories being run about everything from Gov Palin’s clothes to Joe McCain, GOTV is crucial.
I think McCain’s message on taxes is a winner, and I’d love to see a commercial highlighting the fact that our Soldiers support McCain over Obama 3-1, a Socialist Tax Increaser who does not have the backing of the Military while they are winning two wars is an ugly package to vote for.
They should be asking the American people if they want the 9% Congress to have complete control over this future of this country...
McCain & Palin Media TV blitz (FNC only): Cavuto, Hannity, O'Reilly, Chris Wallace, Fox & Friends.
Invite more special guests on the campaign trail and on stage: Limbaugh (would he, for Sarah?), Hannity (already with them), Ted Nugent, Tommy Franks, Sly Stallone, Bruce Willis, Larry Elders, Michael Steele, etc.
It's the final week, go for broke, have fun with all these people, let 'em rip!!
Good observations.
HEALTH CARE: 30 second TV spot - Emaciated, sick child. Mom and Dad anxiously counting days on calendar with red circled date. Anguish. Still 23 more days until the doctor visit (or until CAT scan, or whatever).
Subscript + Voice over = Socialized Medicine = Long lines and waits. DON’T LET IT HAPPEN HERE!
(Possibly with a one line statistic about wait times in one of the contries with socialized medicine.)
I have talked to people whose #1 concern is the high cost of health care. They will overlook EVERY flaw that Obama has, just so that that Obama will take care of the medical system so that they won’t have excessive medical bills and/or insurance.
Add some humour to McCain’s stump speech. His speech is hard hitting but he’s much more likeable when he’s in his humour mode.
A clip on our local news of McCain saying the 0bama team is measureing for the drapes in the Oval Office was quite good. McCain looked like he was having fun. (imo)
btw: I’m somewhat of a nerd that is out of the mainstream with very few qualifications for making suggestions. I virtually never watch the national news shows presented by the Old Media and I read only non-fiction books.
With Governor Palin as our own Maggie Thatcher, she and John McCain should announce that they are going to restart the economy and win the war by swiftly taking away the oil weapon from the enemy, starting with immediately going to a cheaper to produce, cleaner patented gasoline that you can put in your car today that will increase mileage of all American cars and trucks by 40% within two years and that they will break OPEC and allow no “super OPEC” involving Putin and the Chi-Coms’ oil noose. Gas prices will go down further and stay there. Domestic production will increase dramatically within three years. The damage that Clinton and Gore did to the patent office which Bush made worse will be dramatically reversed and the “wrapper” will be put back on inventions by American inventors and IPO’s based on breakthrough technology such as E II gasoline will be brought back from overseas where they have fled in the past five years. The economy will be put on a war time footing just as it was in World War II.
This is the leadership that when Tom Moorer was alive we wrote that we hoped would come but hasn’t.
And state your FR birth date!
10/16/02. Ooops, I had my 6th FReeperversary, and I totally forgot because I had Girl Scouts that day.
But I’ve never won an election, so I have nothing to say to the McCain campaign except, “I already voted for you!”
What would be even better is if there existed a video clip of Obama reciting the Muslim call to prayer and commenting as he did about it “being one of the sweetest sounds” or whatever it was he said (I’m paraphrasing).
