John McCain has read the riot act to members of his own campaign staff for their defeatist attitude, making clear that they must join him in fighting all out to win the presidential election.
Mr McCain has now rolled out a defiant new stump speech in Colorado, where he roused a 5,000 strong crowd with a call to arms, making clear that if he is to go down, he will go down fighting.

I guess hiring Peggy Noonan, Kathy Parker and Chris Buckley didn't pan out too good.
What the Hell else have they got to do? Roll over and submisively p*ss on themselves for Obama?
Good for you McCain!!! Kick their whiny asses!!!

They are portraying McCain/Palin as hotheads
It worked against Goldwater(another fighter pilot)

McCain needs to produce a handful of TV ads that feature Sarah Palin.

Hmmm....maybe John McCain could read the riot act to some of our defeatist FReepers. ;-) Stamp, cosign, ditto and all that.

He's fighting for America and is being quite clear about the differences he has with the direction that 0bama would take. If the U.S. elects 0bama and the dim’s in congress, then they get what they deserve.

Here's the lead pipe John can use in his fight against 0bama.

I just don’t see how that statement is an admission that he’s a socialist. I mean, I know he is one, but that doesn’t seem to be an admission from him.

It’s not a denial either.

Like I said before, the longer McCain stays away from DC, the better he gets.

If this article is true, it should give us pause. If McCain’s own campaign is demoralized then their internal polling is probably showing the same things that we’re seeing on RCP.
That would suck.

Too little, too late.
Fight? We're waiting for John McCain to start!
The article quotes a "friend" as follows:
The friend offered a sober assessment: "This thing is closer than the Obama people think. They are not going to win all the swing states where they are leading now but our problem is that we've got to run the board. The state polls are not good. John is going to have to roll sixes in every state."
We have known this reality for at least two years now and have been posting ad nauseaum that Republicans, whether McCain or any other candidate, had no chance unless he changed the rules of the game, kicked over the table, and recast the terms of the election. None of this has been done. The closest McCain came was in the selection of Sarah Palin and that was subsequently botched by McCain's staff (who we are told yesterday are Bushies!). He exhorted us to stand up and fight in his acceptance speech but he has started no fights. He has explicitly prohibited his staff from starting a fight over Reverend Wright. There is no fight in the McCain campaign.
McCain simply does not understand that in today's electoral landscape, acquiesced in by a passive George Bush, fashioned by a hyper active media and Democrat attack machine, funded by oceans of money, and supported by a ground game never yet seen in American politics, means that politics as usual will not work for him and in fact predestines him to an ignominious loss. Not a conservative, he nevertheless is leading conservatism into the wilderness from which it might never emerge.
Pissed off? You bet I am pissed off!
John McCain has less than 10 days to morally destroy Barak Obama or he will lose. Fight? Yes, John McCain, by all means fight, just let us know when you are ready.

Speaking of McCain's temper, various articles have speculated that McCain has PTSD.
One in particular related an incident in which McCain over-reacted to being touched. The reason I bring this up is that I had noticed that when Obama shook hands with McCain he didn't just shake hands but basically grabbed McCain's entire arm. This could be interpreted as a friendly greeting, but perhaps it was a calculated effort to try to trigger McCain's temper.
