Many Americans consider the Nov. 4 presidential election to be by far the most important one of our lifetime, a historic turning point for our nation.
We are divided over our involvement in wars overseas, shaken by the collapse of financial institutions and the weakened economy, uncertain about our families' future well-being, and seemingly more polarized on partisan, cultural and regional lines than ever.
This is a time for a president with deep experience and proven character, a president who thrives in the great, good, honest middle ground in which most Americans live, a president forthright enough to tell us what we'd rather not hear, a president with the courage to follow his convictions and the grit to persevere.
This is Sen. John McCain's time.
Does the Cincinnati Enquirer have any influence in the region?
Common sense
Of course not, it’s a newspaper. :p
But endorsing John McCain shows that they still have a drop of intellectual honesty left, so they might still have a readership beyond the homeless using their paper for a blanket.
peter bronson writes decent editorials for the enquirer. most of the enquirer is devoted to ap articles and pandering to a certain segment of the population that lives within the city limits.
Didn’t another Ohio newspaper endorse McCain too?
I have never understood what difference it made if a newspaper (or anyone else, for that matter) endorsed a candidate. It’s difficult to envision a reader putting down his paper and saying, “Well, that does it for me! I haven’t been able to make up my mind, but I have such a high opinion of the New York Times editorial staff, so if he’s good enough for them, he’s good enough for me. I’m going Obama.” I mean, really.
LOL! I don’t know. We had a lady who worked for us from Manhattan. I think a relative was prof at NYU and the family had a decent amount of money. She read the NY Times like it was the Bible at work. One employee touched it once and she freaked out. It was like they touched her Koran, she was not Muslim. I think she was a very lapsed Catholic.
NY Times readers are insane.
I AM OPTIMISTIC..until someone posts another poll.
lol
Yep, The Columbus Dispatch.
Being from near Columbus and working there a couple of times/week I had thought the paper was going liberal (I still do), but some here say it's conservative. Suffice it to say, I was surprised by their endorsement.
Honestly a media endorsement means only one thing. You’ll find favorable articles for that candidate. Thats all it means.
The larger more powerful media will do the following with any newspaper endorsement for McCain. I’ve already seen this so pay close attention.
PODUNK CHRONICLE ENDORSES McCAIN
And the article begins with listing ten other newspapers that have endorsed Obama. Included are direct quotes from those endorsing Obama and putting down McCain.
After paragraph 10 they will post one piror endorsement of McCains with a few positive quotes. All done in one pragraph.
Paragraphs 12-19 will go back to naming more newspapers endorsing Obama.
And the final paragraph will give bogus poll results favoring Obama.
It’s just more continued b.s. being shoveled.
I really am thinking seriously about creating a scrapbook of all the lies and negative articles being generated by the media to try and manipulate this election. On the last page of the book filled with nothing but negative comments about McCain and Palin and an over abundance of suggesting it’s in the bag for Obamatrash I will have a picture of the American Flag waving in the background with McCain and Palin standing in front of it with big letters saying... AND THE WON!!!!!
I stopped subscribing to the Enquirer, not because of their bias, which was grating, but their delivery/billing problems were ridiculous. Finally, I was talking to a supervisor's supervisor (allegedly I had been transferred to a Gannett center in another state). She starting giving me attitude about how mistakes happen and all, and I said, "if you can't bill for news accurately, and you can't deliver the news accurately, how could I ever expect you to report the news accurately?" She then called me a racist and I hung up on her.

NEVER FORGET
.
ACORN = OBAMA
OBAMA = ACORN
.
STOCK = SOROS
SOROS = STOCK
.
NEVER FORGET
.
They may matter for local races where maybe some dumb voters know very little about the race.
